kostya tszyu vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. Who wins. Will it be a close fight

floyd would dominate him, i know how yall feel about tszyu but he was not that damn good. and he would not land that right hand on floyd either. i thought tszyu was a good fighter but overall rate him 1-10 i gave him 6.5 maybe the full 7.

 

Mayweather. It is never easy against Tszyu, but Mayweather would win a clear decision.

watch those when ever you get ready, he had some pop in his right hand and deceptive speed. he was good but not great fighting at 140 in this era he would have loss a few times.

I pick Mayweather to be the favorite, but Kostya was just as intelligent in the ring. He didn't have as many gifts of speed and slickness, but he more than made up for it with is patience, ability to time fighters, and one punch power to send them into oblivion.

Though people talk about his defense, FMJ was a much more offensive fighter back in the day. That would be what Kostya needed to always be in the fight, timing/countering opportunities. Always just one punch away. So the entire fight I don't think you could ever count Kostya out. I don't think Kostya would pull a Mosley either if he got a good shot. Depending on when in the round it happened it might be over.

Great fight all around. Mayweather by wide UD or KT by mid rounds stoppage. 80/20. Unfortunately Kostya was a bit too old to meet FMJ.

 

Floyd clearly ducked Kostya at light welterweight.

 

Instead of gatti fighting mayweather i think kostya deserved the gatti payday.
Plus the winners comes out with every belt that mattered. Then that set up a floyd fight. Hbo really ****ed that uo because instead gatti faced mayweather and zabs tune up, baldomir, ruined what koulda been the best fight in boxing with zab and mayweather for the undisputed welterweight chapion ship. And could have made the paper view of the winners be the undisputed junior welter weight vs the undisputed welter weight champion. Instead floyd is viewed as a paper champ at 140 an the only division that he isnt the lineal champ, if im not mistaken. Could be wrong tho

Back to the topic tho. Both at there best i think it would be a very good fight early on but floyd would take the late rounds. Kt doesnt bring to the table anything that would cause pretty boy to slow down which is what you will need to do to beat him. He also isnt a master boxer an can be out boxed imo. Butttt he does have that power that can end the fight in any minute. With all that said floyd clear ud something like 8-4 but very good scrap

 

gatti was thought of as the better fighter at that time and he was the bigger draw by miles. alot of people think tszyu should have gotten that gatti check but what people dont seem to remember is the tremendous ass whooping that came along with that check. i think tsyu and his fans are kinda glad there man never faced mayweather well floyd mayweather. floyd could have got revenge for his uncle.

Was there ever any talks of this fight happening?

I know Floyd Mayweather JR didn't have many fights at the weight and moved up towards the end of Kostya Tszyu career, but it could have been made after the Gatti fight. Probably would have happened if Kostya Tszyu beat Ricky Hatton I reckon.

Oh yeah i agree gatti was the bigger draw but imo, an this is just my opinion, but kostya was due for a payday. He never really got that an i think fighter in there thirties that are lineal champs, much like martinez now, and came up the hard way deserve that payday. Plus i think gatti and kt woulda be an epic fight. Both got huge power gattis huge heart and had been seen as a much improved fighter. Plus for all the marbles at 140. An as i said earlier kould have avoided zabs hiccup to baldomir. Zab was viewed as a veast before that fight an they thought the kid finally put it all together an it coulda been seen as, much like dawson an ward, best vs best champ vs champ. An like u said mayweather had the oppertunity to avenge his uncle. Oh well lol **** happens thats boxing
