Superheavyweights killed it. Our average heavies have to turn into lard asses to compete.

I like to point out though that this era missed out on being a 'very good' era by only a couple fighters.

1-If K2 wasn't brothers and if there was a Prime Lewis type around.

That will make 3 top heavyweights with ATG Talents, and if they all fight each other along with the rest of the top 10. This era becomes good.

The issue is that 1-The top 2 ARE brothers and 2-there is no 'third' elite fighter.

Another issue is that the few talented heavyweights out there lack ambition and dedication.

It's not so much the talent as it is the lack of fights and dedication which make talent go to waste.
Talent wise it's there. Look at David Haye, look at Solis.
    1- Solis is a lazy ****
2-Haye is a lazy **** who only likes pay days.
David Haye and Solis have the talent and abilities to challenge for the top spots. THey just don't have the dedication or the will.

Today HW division belongs to Eastern Euros, they have diffferent more effective style. More technique, less brawling. Watch what golota did to bowe so you can imagine what fighters like Klitschko would do to him. Also you can see how lewis beat holyfield with mostly straight punches.

I'm telling y'all, when the Klits retire, Heavyweight boxing will give us fantastic B level wars. Lets not be too harsh on "skill level". We know its not there as it was in eras of the past, but things will change. Let the giants retire. We'll get good action pack fights again. BELIEVE!!!!

i agree. we can still get these good fights if everyone would just fight each other. and by everyone I mean US heavyweights. I know the Europeans are having some pretty good match ups like Haye-Chisora. Walker vs Adamek was a great fight just recently in the US.

That's arguably the greatest heavyweight fight ever, not just the greatest heavyweight fight since 1992.

Bowe v.s. Holyfield I was one of the Greatest Heavyweight Championship Fights in the history of boxing. It was so exciting and fun from round 1 to 12.

Well, Povetkin vs Huck was a decent war, but it was nowhere close in terms of skill level. Still, more fights like that would enervate the division no end.

Good fight too. I think all 3 of their fights were pretty good.
