The Philippines economy is actually improving and so is their standard of living. There is more freedom in terms of civil liberties (ie such as less traffic law). Lots of pirated material there too. The Philippines is much better compared too many places in the US. Besides health care is expensive in the U.S, everything is expensive, and job opportunities are very low.
