Fan friendly fight and if Hatton is 3/4 of the fighter he once was he'll stop Kats in about 4/5rds.......... if not, the comeback will go no further.

Not pleased about this at all. Katsidis is one of my favourite fighters but he's shot to bits and going to be fighting at a weight he's done **** all at. I couldn't give a monkeys about Hatton one way or the other I just don't want Katsidis to get mashed.

    To quote Friends:

"WOW! They must both be very strong!"

    "...or equally weak."

To shot guys should be fun.

Michael Katsidis is completely shot, anything he had left in him was battered out by Marquez.

Eh? I thought Ricky said it would be someone in the Top10 rankings?

I don't know what Katsidis really brings in the way of judging where Hatton is. If Hatton smashes him out of there in 4 or 5 rounds does it really say that much?

Although well past prime, severely disadvanted at the weight, Katsidis still throws a ridiculous amount of punches. Taking on a guy who guarantees a war and throws 120 punches a round is risky after such a long lay off. He will test Rickys stamina if not his chin.

I think it's okay, it's a 'yardstick' fight we'll have some idea of where hatton is at because, shot or not, katsidis is still a very busy fighter. I'm no hatton fan, but am intrigued by his comeback and he could easily have picked a far worse opponent.
Any word on the weight? I'm presuming ricky could never fight below welter again...

He said in the press conference he's fighting at Welter, stacking it even more in his favour.

As for fighting Katsidis, he's well known to the British public adding even more hype to this fight, should be entertaining with both having fan friendly styles. However fighting a banger after a 3 year lay off is risky.

Katsidis is shot to ****, and fighting 2 weight classes above his comfort zone.

Looking at their styles & names, you immediately think "cracking fight". It's designed to do exactly that.

I'll be watching this through the gaps as my hands cover my eyes, hoping neither gets seriously injured

I don't like it for Hatton. If Kats lands that left, you know it's not going to be good for Hatton.
