Not a bad list....I think Ward may be placed a little high based on his win over Dawson...but I can live with this.
You probably have Bute in there, citing a Bute injury/flu/mysterious disease pre-Froch fight.. and you probably want him to carry the IBF belt around still. Even though his jelly mandible got smashed to smithereens by the godly FroCH.
Vitali shouldn't be top 10 at the moment I don't think, very good fighter for several years but in the past 2 years he's beat a nobody in Charr, laboured to a 12 round decision over a guy Haye put away in 5 rounds, beat a former light heavyweight who has never impressed at hw and then the KO or bad leg win against solis which ever way you want to see it.
1 - Floyd 2 - Ward 3 - Martinez 4 - Marquez 5 - Pacquiao 6 - Wladamir 7 - Donaire 8 - Dawson 9 - Nishioka 10 - Gamboa 11 - Bradley 12 - Vitali 13 - John 14 - Froch 15 - Cotto 16 - Matthysse 17 - Hopkins 18 - Alvarez 19 - Salido 20 - Moreno
Cotto at #10? :huh There are other deserving better of that position. Cotto hasn't really done much lately, still a great NAME but nothing notable lately. I would put Mares on #10 instead. And Marquez at #5? :huh Other than fighting Pac who has he fought that is of considered atleast an equal or better opponent to him to rank him so high? He did "unofficially" beat Pac but come on, he hasn't done **** after that other than just sit around and waited for that 4th fight. I think Wlad is way more deserving than Marquez based on Wlad fighting everyone who is available on his division.
I wouldn't have Cotto in there either, I think having him in it is over-rating or over-estimating him. I agree to an extent with your point with Marquez: apart from Pacquaio he hasn't beaten enough to warrant much higher in my opinion. Donaire at 7 may be a little low considering he is a real 'pound for pound' fighter as far as moving up divisions goes, and I think Ward is a little high at 2 personally, bit of a knee-jerk reaction to the Dawson fight which wasn't as impressive as appears on paper due to Dawson's weight issue, although ward couldn't have done much more. I have him at 4. Still have a bit of a problem with Mayweather at 1 with Pacquaio being dropped down due to recent performances and Ward elevated for them. All in all though its not a bad list, although the Ring is probably closer to what mine would shape up like
Can anyone answer me this - On what basis is Vitali Klitschko above Carl Froch, or in the top 10 generally? I'm befuddled by his popularity.
