Teampalle has reacted saying that Miranda is one of the options that they are working on. It's on their danish website. According to Palle HBO has pointed to Miranda as a possible opponent and Teampalle and HBO are in talks about the fight. According to Teampalle Kessler will be facing Miranda if the money are right and a better opponent doesn't appear.

    http://www.teampalle.dk/composite-1568.htm

    And from Kessler's own website:

"A fight against Winky Wright might be possible and I'm ready to meet everybody, as long as it will benefit my career."

As far as I can see Miranda would fit that category :)

So don't worry - Kessler isn't backing out here - e never did so far and if a fighter like Miranda is making him scared, then he can just as well hang up the glowes now...

I think Palle would prefer to see Kessler fight Winky or Taylor.

It's about who's the biggest name, Kessler can land. A fight with Miranda might be the best fight for him, but Taylor and Winky would both be tailor made for Kessler, and should be targeted first.

After all, he lost his last fight and this might affect him on some level. But if he has laid Wales completely behind him, he should be able to jab and counter Miranda all night.

I don't think Miranda has the tools to trouble Kessler too much - I see him giving him a pretty rough early ride, before being outboxed in the stretch and losing UD - 117-111 or similar.

What makes you think that Kessler isn't mentally strong?

i dont think kessler is strong mentally because he just didnt seem sure of himself in the fight with joe. As soon as he realized he could not hurt or break joe it looked like kessler was out mentally. Now miranda will make it a brawl and i dont think kessler will respond well to mirandas power and trash talk. Especially after the loss. Just my opinion i could be wrong.

I think he performed well and came out of that fight with the confidence that he can beat any other super middleweight in the world. I thinks thats what most people watching the fight thought too.

I don't think he was mentally weak I just feel Calzaghe ****ed his timing up and he didn't know what to do about it. Too much loading up on his punches aloowed Calzaghe too steal the rounds.

I think he fought alright - he was just a bit outmatched that night - if you look at round 12 it's a harsh judgement that he was mentally weak. Add to that that he fought his first mandatory abroad with an injury and his handleling of Andrade I have to disagree on your opinion.

As for the brawl - I don't think Miranda will be able to make Kessler brawl - and if he does I think he find Kessler's uppercut an unplesant incounter. Kessler was able to keep out of Andrade was for 12 rounds of constant attack and counter every chance he got - I don't think Kessler will have trouble taking care of Miranda either.

Only questionmark in the equasion is the effect of the Calzaghe-loss - But I'm not worried - Kessler seems ok, seems to to have his confidense. He took defeat fine so far - but of course we'll have to see him back in the ring before passing judgement. And Miranda is just about perfect - if he had a bit less power in his punches he would have been perfect for Kessler ;)

Actually he came out of the fight with the confidence he can beat any SMW in the World, knowing that he would probably never get the chance.:smoke

even though Miranda would be his easiest option i think Kessler wants to get back in the mix with the top contenders right away and not waste his time!

Kessler should fight Miranda next or after a warmup. It's a great matchup for Kessler, as Miranda is seen by some as this big threat to the division, in otherwords he's a bit overhyped. Kessler possesses big skill advantages and punches hard, and believe it or not, took some very good shots from Calzaghe, not just slaps.

Who's more damaged? Kessler by giving Calz. (one of the most difficult and talented fighters out there) a hell of a fight for 12 rounds, or Miranda getting out toughed and outgunned and KTFO by Pavlik? IMO Kessler is faster, more skilled, and has power close to Pav. I see Kessler winning this by mid-late round TKO without taking much damage in the process.
