Well tbh, our thoughts are worth more than most becuase we had 'Punch 'n' Jewellery' just down the road. ;)

He was good, but a bit too small for Bruno and Mason.

Getting decked by Hughroy Currie might suggest otherwise. Notice would of benefited from a 200lbs Cruiserweight limit in his era. The victory over Wamba would suggest he could of been very successful at the weight.

But since 1979, not many 'world class' Cruiserweights have made the step up to 'world class' Heavyweight.

Bruno woulda stopped Mason, who was too easy to hit. 5/6 rounds imo

Yes. Even tho we saw a lot more of what Frank could do, I can see Gary maybe pulling off an upset and beating him.
Shame that Gary never got any further.

Would have been a very good fight, a real 50/50 for me.

Mason had more array of shots and maybe the sharper thinker in there. Wouldn’t be surprised if Gary pulled it off

Yes, Gary was only stopped by Lewis because of his ongoing eye problems. He would have lost but he wasn’t blitzed like Bruno eventually was by Lewis. Eye issues not withstanding, Mason would have probably got thru the early Bruno onslaught ( Though Bruno was one of the best in the world at getting rid of second or third tier heavyweights) and forced a stoppage in the second half of the fight.
