Miguel Cotto maybe the smaller fighter but damn, who has Austin fought that's even close to Cotto's level? This content is protected

from what little footage i have seen of trout i dont like his chances.. its not just his resume that strikes me as poor. but he seems to bully his opponents to the ropes a little bit and try a little inside fighting yet he looks very sloppy and inaccurate with his punches, cotto is a beast on the inside i felt he did extremely well against mayweather and if he looks anything like that when he faces trout its going to be next to impossible for trout to win
Same here, he doesn't look that Impressive against these opponents who he suppose to easily be Knocking out.
I've said it before, they are just letting Cotto get a title before a showdown with Canelo next year.
For a while, Trout was severely underrated, but at this point he's getting looked at much more closely and no, he hasn't faced anyone close to Cotto before. That said, he's only lost a few rounds in his entire career. Rodriguez and Lopez were both top 10 guys when he fought them, and he beat them in their backyards. He also went to Mexico to beat Alvarez, who was around top 20. He's had a few better fights fall through also. After that, it's not a particularly strong resume, but everyone needs a first big test at some point. Right now, I'd say he's in a similar place to where Timothy Bradley was when he fought Junior Witter (who was the #2 140 lber at the time and on a few P4P lists). Against Cotto, I suspect he'll go back to fighting more like he did against Alvarez, using his length to pop combos in and out. If he fights like he did against Rodriguez, he's toast. I don't think this is an easy fight though. Trout doesn't have a ton of power, but talent-wise he's better than a lot of guys at 154.
Delvin Rodriguez best name on there @ a quick glance. Cotto by far will be his biggest test, One he won't pass IMO.
Cotto should win if he cam handle trouts size. Trout is just so miserable to watch. He can turn any fight into a snoozer.
He went and took the belt from Rigoberto Alvarez (Sauls bro) in Mexico in front of a hostile crown then defended it against the always underated David Lopez, also in hostile territoryin Mexico. Also he has the win over the talented hard hitting Delvin Rodriguez. Those are 3 good fighters and he's shown that he has no problem fighting and winning with the crowd against him. Trouts gonna beat Cotto, he's a legit 154 fighter and he's FAR better than anyone Cotto has beaten at 154. Aside from Mayweather this is easily Cotto's hardest fight at 154 and vs a big southpaw who's young and hungry and in great shape. AT the very least Trout will keep it very close. I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict Trout by UD.
Trout's a good fighter, he's had a few decent wins but I thought he was a bit underwhelming against Rodriguez. I thought he'd beat him easier than he did. He'll give Cotto a good fight but Cotto should win.
