Can Sergio Martinez at the age of 37 still become an ATG or too late

    Of that list, those guys at 160- is the list going on terms of both P4P skill level AND resume? if it is, that's a bit unfair. For instance....Roy doesn't have the resume of Martinez at MW, and I believe Cerdan, Turpin, Zale, Graziano would have been handily outboxed by Martinez in a P4P sense

    I'm a bit thrown by the list.

    He probably could but I don't think he will. He's 37 and doesn't have enough time left to string enough quality wins together before he either starts losing or retires.

    He's already put a nice 160 run together and has a lot of opponents out there that could cause his stock to rise. He would need a few of the younger guys like Pirog, Golovkin, Geale, etc to put some good wins together and then beat them himself.

    He would really benefit by having Mayweather, Cotto, or Alvarez move up and challenge him as well, especially Mayweather. Even though the possibilities are there I think he'll run out of time before he accomplishes enough to be considered a great fighter. He probably will be remembered as a good middleweight but not a great one.

    He can but he'll need to string together a few really good victories to do so...In other words if he beats Canelo, Golovkin and unifies with Geale he'd be pretty close...

    I'm sorry, I don't care what K2 fans say. I refuse to believe this is a good era for HW Boxing. I refuse.
    The doughboy fresh on the right is the #3 or #4 heavyweight of this era. Behind K2 and ahead or behind Haye (subjective)
    He is fighting someone who was from the LAST era in a title fight. Two disgraceful rolli polli ham on salami fat boys.

    Fans love to say 'Oh it don't matter if they in shape, if you want to look at in shape athletes go watch body building. No... it does matter. A top 5 heavyweight should look like a top 5 heavyweight. Look at him, just look at Povetkin. He look like he ate a small whale, Rahman look like he ate an adult whale though so I guess next to Rahman Povetkin look like Adonis himself.

    He's got to do quite a bit more to be an ATG in little time, considering his wins other than those listed drops significantly off immediately.

    Become the undisputed champion at 160 by beating Golovkin and Geale, then beat Mayweather and either Alvarez or Cotto at 154 and he'd have a damn good case.

    I guess the best way to put it for me would be to say that he can become an all-time great by clearing out 154/160 (winning a belt at 168 would do wonders, too) and having one of this decades most impressive resumes, but in terms of H2H ability, he will just never compare to the true all-timers at 154/160, IMO.

    ...and yes, I just confused myself.

    He can if he beats geale, pirog and glovkin that would mean he has all belts and then moves up in weight and beats a champ there.. Its achievable in about 5 fights

    Or beat Floyd and WARD

    Or clean out his division (middleweights) for the next three years (top fighters)

    Or cleanb out 154 for the next 3-4 years and beat guys like FLoyd Canelo Cotto Lara and others who step up.... it ain't gonna be easy for him to be considered ATG.. many don't even call Wlad or Vitali ATG.. so it ain't gonna be easy by any stretch of the imagination.. the easiest way would be to beat Ward.. or maybe FLoyd at 154.. people can't really hate if he drops weight to fight Floyd... dropping weight is just as tough as moving up in many instances.... that's my take
