I wouldn't say he had a great jab, more like a very good one. No where near the level of Quartey. I would definitely put him with DLH though.
Making an argument against my self: part of having a great jab is knowing when to use it. And he was never a very smart fighter. So in that regard I can see where xplosive is coming from.
Taylor's jab was nowhere near as good as prime DLH's, and I hate the cross dressing fairy as much as anyone.
Are you serious? I am a Winky Wright fan. Go find some of my past posts if you don't believe me. I didn't mean to make him out to be a nobody. You read that **** wrong, or I made it sound bad. I stated that Wright arguably beat JT. And he was no where near Maravilla in terms of power, hand speed, reflexes, etc. I said Wright and Maravilla both took punches well and had good defenses, albeit different forms of defense. I bet I know more bout Wright than you do. Just saying.
Maravilla dodged TONS of shots from Chavez. Tons. He would outslick Taylor. Taylor would find him more than Chavez, no doubt, but not enough to take him out.
Im assuming that your location says it all but did you actually watch the fight? Those were not bull**** lowblows which slow motion replays clearly showed as well. Even american boxing scribes were saying those were full on painfull lowblows. And he was clearly doing them on purpose as well because he had no clue what to do in there. That fight was also very telling to how limited and not capeble of adapting TJ was. His jab while decent is completely 1 dimensional and thrown at 1 speed. His jab got timed and blocked ALL night and JT never made a single adjustment for it while he got outboxed and knocked the **** out. JT always comes in with 1 gameplan, never adjusts and thats why when he runs into someone that has a plan b and c he looks very average.
Chavez jr? You are comparing Chavez JR to Jermaine Taylor in his prime? One guy throws a jab constantly one guy walks people down with his face. Jermaine would not have to take out Sergio he could win on points.
Taylor's middleweight run and talent in his prime is underrated. Lets not forget his fights with Hopkins. However I don't see him winning this one. Taylor tended to get tired and get a bit lazy towards the end of fights where I believe Martinez would have taken advantage and dominated enough of the latter rounds to win a close decision.
