Talks are talks and not unless you see indications that's it's going to the right directions there's nothing for people to believe it, that's what I'm saying there. Not all talks pushes through.

And in other threads Arum has been condemed. Mainly over Winky. I think your remark is out of line. Especially since their is no confirmation yet. And I call dibs on an avatar bet with you when/if Duddy fights Pavlik.:deal

 

Zuniga is far more deserving of a fight with Abraham than Lorenzo, but I bet he won't get it because it's to risky. It might turn out like Pavlik/Miranda in the sense that the guy HBO was trying to make a star out of lost.

And why in the hell is Steward talking about Pavlik/Lee. Andy signed with Top Rank recently, and 1 condition is that he must appear on the undercard of at least 2 Pavlik fights. Steward said he wants this because he wants people to start thinking about Pavlk/Lee. I have thought about it, and if it happens any time soon my prediction is Pavlik by brutal decapitation in under 6 rounds. Young Andy is a very promising prospect, but he is at least 18 months away from being ready for a guy as brutal as Kelly Pavlik. I mean let's get ****in' real here! Andy's best win was over Carl Daniels who is 37 years old, 2-8 in his last 10 fights, including losses to Codrington and Spina!

Now to Pavlik/Lockett; I have not been able to find much information on Lockett. There does not seem to be a single film clip on the internet, and there is precious little written info. Judging on resume alone this guy does not belong in the same building with Pavlik, let alone the same ring. However, since October 2005 (the Zuniga fight) Pavlik's opponents had a combined record of 184 wins, a couple draws, and 12 losses with 132 wins coming by way of knockout (72%) so I guess the kid deserves a break!

From what I can find out Pavlik should win impressively, but he deserves an easy win for a chance.

 

I havent heard Abraham's name mentioned for June 7 in weeks, to be honest.

I've been told that its likely a tripleheader but an Abraham fight is not the third fight along with Pavlik-Lockett and Lee-Rubio.

For the third fight - you'd have to check my Blog. Go back a few days ....LOL

Though I wonder why Arum is mentioning Abraham as the 2nd best middleweight and would welcome a showdown at the end of 2008 - when will he try to build up this fight if not on June 7?

Abraham must at least have fought once on HBO to generate enough money for a fight with Pavlik later in 2008... :huh

 

It would be stupid to dismiss Lockett as a nobody and start thinkin about Pavliks next fight.
Upsets have happened before and while most think its a warm up fight Lockett will have other ideas, he can also knock them clean out.
This is Locketts golden opportunity. If Pavlik puts on a poor performance then who knows. Only fighting in uk, no videos of him online and 1 defeat doesnt mean he has lost the Pavlik fight already. I admit Lockett needs a miracle but so did Oliver Mcall.

 

That's what I'm talking about all along. The plan of putting Pavlik and Abraham together in one card is a positive indication that they are serious in putting up Pavlik vs Abraham next. :yep

 

Also a sign that Arum has a plan and knows what he is doing. He was talking of putting Pavlik on broadcast TV BEFORE the MMA announcement. Plus he sent Winky scurrying off after Sturm so he would have something to bring to the ring. The last major belt. I love it when a plan comes together. Props to him if this all happens. :happy

Lee beats Rubio convincingly. Abraham shows the world he is no paper champion by using every trick and all the skill he can muster to stop Zuniga in 9 rounds same as Kelly did. Pavlik produces another highlight real knockout.

In the mean time Winky entices Strum into a fight, and captures the WBA title.
