I'm pretty sold on Salido-Lopez II.

You had what was maybe the round of the year in what I think should be the fight of the year.

Even my wife who doesn't like boxing was sitting on the edge of the couch just saying "Holy ****. Holy ****!"

The top 5 for me are (in no particular order):

Juan Manuel Lopez vs Orlando Salido

    Michael Katsidis vs Albert Mensah

Marcos Maidana vs Jesus Soto Karass

    Mike Alvardo vs Marcio Herrera

    Lucas Matthysee vs Ajose Olesegun

I've loved both Lopez and Salido fights.

Alvarado and Rios could be up there. The year is not yet over!

Adamek-Walker should be a contender. A lot of people didnt get a chance to see, because it was on a shitty channel.

Is Martinez-JCC Round 12 a lock for round of the year?

    No.

    Salido-Lopez 2 round 9 >>>>>>>>>>>

As for FOTY...I would say Salido-Lopez 2 so far...Rios-Alvarado has the potential to top it MO.

Yeah I'm having a hard time going against Salido/Lopez 2.

My other personal favorites this year were Alvarado/Herrera and Huck/Afolabi 2.

My big problem with Salido-Lopez 2 is that Salido was in so much control throughout the fight. Aside from the knockdown, it felt a lot less competitive than the first fight. Even with round 9, while it was great to see Lopez try to bring the fire, it still didn't seem like Salido was especially troubled by that offense and didn't have a problem fighting off the ropes that round.

Besides Rios-Alvarado, a good upcoming dark horse candidate is Porpramook-Hernandez 2 next week. Not many saw their first clash at the end of last year, but it was one of my 3 favorite fights of that year.
