He didn't mention names. He did however indicate it as a World-Wide issue by throwing in the "Over-seas" remark which should be the "given." PEDs are World-Wide.

PEDs might be seen like any other drug used to aid the athlete in healing and pain. And of course what they became known for specifically, Performance Enhancing to make you Bigger, Stronger, Faster, and even have more Endurance.

One specific complaint I would have is that since it is supposed to be against the rules to cheat using PEDs, it's unfair to those that don't.

So even if you don't see the big deal with PEDs specific for enhancing one's physical ability, you still have to feel for the Athlete that doesn't use because he is following the rules (and even his conscience).

"I was always stronger than anyone I was in the ring with"
"Strength doesn't win fights, brains wins fights "

Then he proceeds to quote Holyfield, one of the biggest PED abusers in the history of the sport, to support his "case" against steroid abuse.

I'm suprised he won a single fight with that brain of his.

I took it all a bit different:

He didn't use steroids because he was already big and strong so it didn't even cross his mind to need an extra boost to compete. There was no insecurity in that department. So his focus was on building his skill level up.

And for those that did use them, and maybe its because they felt they weren't big and strong enough to compete; why take them if Brains/Skills is what really wins fights.

As for the Holyfield quote; You have to separate the two: The quote itself which is a Mental attitude belief/statement which others have said in the past on some level (which Lamon took for his own belief system)...and the "possible" use of PEDs from Holyfield (which makes him a hypocrite if he did). Maybe he found out Brains only gets you so far in this sport. If it was just down to brains and skills, we wouldn't need the P4P fantasy rankings.
