Could Floyd and Manny be the #1 and #2 PPV stars in the 90's?

Not a chance. Aside from the very top guys like Tyson and Oscar, you had charismatic, can-friendly fighters like Tito and a hugely popular Chavez.

Add a stacked Heavyweight division and there's no way in the world they'd be the top draws.

No, and I don't think either of them would have gone anywhere near prime versions of Oscar, Shane or Tito. Pacquiao for sure would get ****ing destroyed by all three.

Who did better per bout De La Hoya or Tyson (despite not being at his best)?
I would think they were one and two in real life. Tell me if I'm wrong.
I don't think Mayweather and Pacquiao would do better than De La Hoya and Tyson.

I think there is more ppv now than in the 90's. I think a better question would be how would the 90's stars do in today's market.
    1. De La Hoya: Possibily the biggest "Star" in all of boxing. There have been better boxers. However the list of guys who could out sell him or even compete in terms of sales is very short.
    2. Tyson: He wouldn't be the best heavyweight. He might not even be a champion. Were talking about post prison Tyson here. However, people would pay to see him fight.
    3. Mayweather: Love him or Hate him. His fights sell
    4. Chavez Sr.: Had a massive fallowing. With today's social Media which no doubt helps Mayweather and Pacquiao. It would be even bigger.
    5. Jones: Jones who would be considered as one of the best p4p boxers would also benfit from the internet.
    6. Pacquiao: He's a National icon. There's no getting around this fact. His popularty extends beyond borders. No small part due to marketing. He would not be ratted as high in the p4p rankings as he is now. That will hurt his ppv status.
    7. Whitaker: Whitasker might be the most under the radar p4p great. In the p4p sense he's the best of this list.
    9. Bowe: I beliuve Bowe if around today would be the beat heavyweight in the world. This includes Lewis. I fell that had they fought when they should have Bowe would have betten Lewis. He beats 90's Tyson and the brothers Klitchko. As long as he avoids a Golota like fight and dose not go off the deep end.
    10. Lewis: While Bowe would be the best of the decade as a heavyweight. Lewis would finsh the decade as the best heavyweight. A great heavyweight is always going to sell well.

Other compters for ppv sales. Trinidad, Cotto, Chavez Jr., The brothers Klitchko. Toney, Hopkins.

They both USED Hoya to gain their status so no. Unless they beat a Prime Hoya which sounds unlikely for Floyd, and a ? for Pac

^ Tyson was a bigger draw in the 90s than DLH ... DLH was more prominent in the 00s and easily the biggest draw

Tyson, DLH, and Holyfield all easily beat Floyd and Manny

Add Tito and Vargas into the mix and they really didn't stand a chance.

  13. Floyd and Pac would not be in the WW division in the 90's...if they were, they'd both lose, Manny would be getting KTFO by a lot of the much bigger fighters. Floyd would have faked his own death.

As said earlier.. these two weren't even WW's at the time.. if so.. both would lose to Hoya and Tito.... and probably Shane too.. I think Floyd beats Vargas imo... I think Manny loses to all including Forrest....

That being said... just competing popularity wise with these guys would be tough... Tyson and Holyfield would sale more numbers.... and Oscar would destroy them not just in the ring, but with ppv sales as well.. and guys like Bowe, Vargas and Tito would be really good competition.... Lewis really got big in the 00s.. but he could def serve as some competition because people liked the heavyweights so much.. RJJ SHOULD be competition.. but he didn't promote himself well enough..... otherwise he might top this list easily....

so no they wouldn't be one and two even if they were WW's.... Pac has a better shot because of his style.. Mayweather sales pretty much just off his name and p4p status which wasn't and wouldn't be huge at that time.... Both fighters really did make it big time after beating De La Hoya... neither would be making 20 million with the GB PERIOD..........
