Not entirely true. Take a good look at the forums, and you'll actually see some non mexicans who are fans.
I haven't found a single Mexican, here in Mexico, who likes Chávez Jr., and I deal with lots of people everyday, many of whom follow boxing.
This exactly. His reputation as an exciting fighter has always been bizarre to me. The Rubio fight was especially dreadful, despite all of Lampley's "RAGING BULL" exclamations to try to make it seem otherwise. The Lee fight was the only one he's been involved in recently that was somewhat entertaining, but even that wasn't much to write home about. Golovkin, Martinez, Macklin, and even the older more willing to engage Sturm are all clearly more exciting middleweights in my opinion.
I like him. He was supposed to be a bum who got exposed as soon as he fought a C level talent. He beat Zbik, Rubio, Duddy, Manfredo, Lee and came pretty close to stopping Martinez in the 12th when a lot of low caliber fighters would've given up after losing 11 rounds. People say he is too big for MW but that would also mean he is drained as **** - double standards Everyone said he didn't have the balls to step in the ring with Martinez, he proved everyone wrong. He rematched Matt Vanda right after the controversial decision. He has a style that everyone hates yet he still has success with it.
lol he is a bum. yeh, he's beaten most of his opponents but that's because of his size. and he got exposed pretty badly against sergio.
it's his name. I know ALOT of casual, semi-casual fans, who are up in aroar everytime Jr or Alvarez gonna fight. They dont have a clue of who they goona fight against but they buy or watch that ****. and all week long they all saying " Orale JCC Jr gonna fuk him up" or "El Canelo gonna fight, fk yea" Then they ask me, whos that guy they fighting? = to Bandwagonism and good marketing by their Mgrs.
