Excuse my ignorance on this subject, but has he fought anyone of any significance? His record reflects a very exciting KO artist. Why hasn't there been any serious talk of him fighting a klits or even someone like areolla?

I saw Rodriguez fight live last century and at the time I thought he had decent ability, he was fast, aggressive and put weight behind his punches. He had potential but I think he may have been too protected by his management and may have withered on the vine. A fight vs Boytsov would be interesting at least in theory it would be interesting.

the guy has been a pro for 14 years.
    35 years old

takes his boxing career very seriously

any theory on his management team should be thrown out the window, unless he signed a life time contract with them as well 50% of his soul in the after life. this is all on him at this point in the game and 14 years later

Ya know Iceman your partly right, partly wrong.

I've talked to Bob Spagnola and Zeferino Promotions. I was told that Arreola was sent contracts, OPEN contracts, I was told about the Boystov fight in Vegas that was BOOKED but canceled by GBP for back in 08/09.
K2 offered the Banks fight to him, but BANKS refused it and fought Gavern instead. His team called Fury's ppl before Fury fought Firtha. They wanted that fight. They have plenty of trouble getting him INTO big fights, and hasve trouble getting OPPONENTS for him too....Oquendo don't want it unless it's his promoter, his backyard, his terms. McCall....same ****.

BUT.......I also KNOW that Amir Monsour was ready to bring David to Jersey. Short money, BUT, still more than he got for Polley. And that fight woulda been a real restart for him.
I know Sulieman was trying hard to get him into some fights, but David seems to think he's already there. He's the number 1 or some ****. He's won a few minor titles, but really he's failed to impress me these days with his unwillingness to be an opponent(Monsour, Solis) and his greed when it comes to giving a larger payday to his opponents.

I was high on this guy, and still got some hope, but ever since his tirade that alost cost him his life last New Years, and finding out the **** about turning down Monsour and 20+K, I'm thinking his ego is so much more than his rating.

And it's a shame too, cuz the guy has got a body attack like very few HWs, man and watching film on him.....he's just ready to go. Sucks for his fans, or fan(me) that he aint willing to let it hang out there.:-(

I mean I know what I know, but turning down great opportunities like Monsour and Solis are hugely disappointing. Moreso than guys like Boystov, Banks, and Fury turning him down.

He says he's gonna chop down the Klitschkos.....yeah right....he won't even fight the Thomspons unless they got serious money.

And recently another of my favorites, you know who he is, turned down a top 40 fighter for 35K. He instead fought an unactive top 90 and LOST. He then decided to fight a 4-0 newcomer for a huge payday and LOST.
Seems he MIGHT have been smart turning down the 35K. :think

He has fought literally no one. Even Wilder has fought against better fighters.

Huge puncher, but haven't faced enough quality opposition to say more. I don't think he can crack top10.
