What do you remember most about Chris 'rapid fire' Byrd?

atsch Lewis fought Tyson in june '02. He was supposed to fight Byrd in Dec 2002 but gave up his title instead. The fight with Vitali was penciled for Dec 2003 but Johnson got injured so they fought in june. Instead of rematching Vitali in Dec, Lewis gave up his title again. Ultimate duck.

You're still being a hypocrite and not seeing the whole picture, but credit for finally doing some research. Your hypocrisy is that you feel challengers like Haye shouldn't be able to dictate terms to Vitaly, but its ok that Byrd did to Louis. Your lack of not seeing the whole picture is there was no interest in a Byrd-Lewis fight.

 

How is it a freak accident when Byrd was making him miss again and again? A freak accident would have been breaking his arm landing a punch.

 

Haye hasn't done **** to dictate the terms. Byrd was IBF mandatory for 2 years waiting for his shot. To be fair, Lewis had plans to take IBF title back from Byrd but Vitali forced Lewis to retire before it could happen.

 

You're wrong. Haye is a draw where as Byrd wasn't. And this is the problem with multiple titles, people think that a paper ranking entitles a fighter and makes him deserving but overlook other mandatories that may or may not be deserving as well. And lets keep it real bro, Vitaly didn't force Lewis to do anything. Lennox had nothing left to prove after busting Vits up while he was past his best. Boxing fans should be applauding any fighter who retires on top and doesn't come back. I'm sure you will be doing that for Vits if the fight with Haye never comes about and I will applaud him too.

 

When I think of Chris Byrd, the first image that pops into my head is that look on his face when he got up from that absurd left from Ike. I like Chris, great fighter, but that is just what pops in my head.
