crolla landed a coupe of body shots that shook right through matthews that round, it was almost as bad as the ref jumping in after one of those and ending it the other way.

The fateful Eubank and Benn fights severely changed refs attitudes!

Crolla's legs were a bit shaky a couple of times but he was still pivoting and blocking shots intelligently and was absolutely fine at the point the ref jumped in. Both fighters rocked a bit from each others shots but that's the point of the fight!

Awful stoppage, I still think Crolla could have recovered and won the fight the round was almost over.

yes he was completely fined, gloves up. His legs weren't even than unsteady, just buckled from the shot. He's got quick recovery crolla.

He got caught with an upercut going back and the ref jumped in.

Worst stoppage i've seen in along time.

I'd say the stoppage was questionable but far from the worst I've seen.

Crolla deserved to lose for fighting like a complete and utter ****** anyway. Watching him in his best performances, compared to that..... I think he's domestic level at best but an 8 round level fighter would have fancied their chances.

Lower & loosen the guard, sharpen up the footwork, look to draw the head more and counter.

That's the Manchester style of fighting, not following the opponent round like a voyeur being tattoo'd for however long the fight lasts.

Yeah, I was pretty angry at that stoppage, I thought it just felt like the ref taking an excuse to hand the win to the home fighter. Not saying the fight would have gone to Thompson but he was definitely competitive, and winning it in my book.

I thought the stoppage was harsh, but it looked like every time Derry connected clean that Crolla got wobbled. Maybe the referee saw it differently in the ring - he's the one who can see the fighters' faces and their body language most clearly.

ye i thought it was ok tbh, i thought crolla kept geting hurt and i thought he wouldnt have lasted much longer, maybe a tad early but no complaints, not a bad stoppage compared to what we've seen

    Although I agree with this
I also agree with this. Far from the worst stoppage, not even close. He'd been hurt many times during the fight and the ref thought enough is enough.

I agree, there ll doing in. It fits Murray who' tough, but i think crolla has more to his game than that.

the people who thought it was a good stoppage, are you also fans of derry matthews by any chance.

Yes his knees bbuckled a couple of times before, but he also showed that he recovers very quickly.

He already looked recovered again, he danced away from the ropes, took a glancing uppercut, that hit the top of the head, and whilst knocking his head back, wouldn't have hurt, and the ref jumps in. It was terrible!!!
