Don't recall there being a whole lot of excuse making. Not half as much as, say, Pacquiao fans after his embarrassment back in November. One can mention Mayweather coming in overweight, or JMM's awful training camp which saw him lifting rocks etc. However I think most impartial fans, going on the pricipal of styles make fights, realise that this is a tough task for JMM no matter what the circumstances. By forcing JMM to become the aggressor, Floyd took him out of his comfort zone, which is of course counterpunching and beat him comprehensively. As much as I don't like to say it, JMM isn't getting any quicker, and especially not at 147. He looked great against Pacquiao because his timing is exceptional. However, he did look slower, his workrate was down on previous fights and timing isn't going to be effective against a style like Mayweather's. I don't think this fight plays out much differently at 147 to be honest.
If they hadn't fought once before, this would be the clear cut best option, and would have already happened on May 5th rather than the Cotto fight. But they did fight once before. And it was a sweep, included a KD, and the state of their careers bring nothing new to the table.
You guys say you don't want to watch it. But when the contracts are signed, you're all just going to jump on the wagon again. JMM/Money 2, let's go
