bad stoppag.e. i would have given him a standing count or at least waited another 20 seconds or longer he was still on his feet
Now now, settle petal. :nono This is how a scholar and a gent disagrees on a post. Cordial salutations on your courteous input turbotime.
This x100 Its not like alvarado was throwing back. He was out on his feet. Good stoppage. I like both guys
I think the way Alvarado seemed confused and hesistated putting his hands up made the Ref think "damn this guy it out of it" Which he was for that moment when he was on the ropes... With a standing 10 count he probaly would have recovered... You can't really argue the stoppage however & Rios surely would have gone into finisher mode AND Alvarado probaly would have got screwed on the cards anyway
How are you 46? I would of course loved to have seen Mike stopped compltely but maybe the ref saved him for the big $$ rematch? :smoke He was a zombie on the ropes, boxing is just brutal
I knew some mong would start a thread about this. It was a perfectly fine stoppage. Most fights would have been halted a couple shots earlier, but Alvarado got a little extra time.
I am tip top and Bristol fashion, old dog.:deal I think he was looking to get a standing eight count, but The Dungeon Master got the nod from Arum. It was straight out of the VVarren school of stoppages.
It would've been a "quick stoppage" in a fight that didn't already go 6 brutal rounds...where both men took on a LOT of punishment....most of the shots landed where head shots..taking that many unanswered shots after that kind of war....stopping the fight was more than justified. The ref made the right decison in that situation.....Alvarado could have taken a knee....but he was hurt and unable to fight back....he was saved from further punishment and a possible career ending injury.
maybe next time he can be off his feet just 1 time. if they stopped a Gatti fight every time he was out on his feet, he wouldnt be the arturo gatti we know. **** stoppage
