If anyone watched 153, you'll see why. The insane reflexes, the rope-a-dope, the insane punching power that he has.

    He would have been great.

I watched that fight, Silva is a great MMA fighter IMO the GOAT.
But in a boxing sense dude is waaaaaay to squared up any true boxer skilled @the same level as Silva would knock him the **** out.

Still in MMA dude is amazing.

Maybe the best ever in MMA.

He had a pro boxing contest - the result of that gives you a good indication how good a boxer he'd have been.

No his chin isn't good and yet he keeps his hands down

He'd he get KO'd by the guys at his weight class in boxing.

Excellent UFC fighter though. Mocks the stand up skills of most MMA fighters.

People have to remember he hasnt spent his life training for boxing.
So squaring up ect is all relative

He would be a great fighter if he had had the training. T

I believe he was 1 -1 as a cruiserweight boxer.
He's the business in mma though

If he had started out training boxing instead of muay thai and jiu jitsu, maybe. Probably, in fact, because he's incredibly talented. He'd never do a whole lot if he crossed over as is though.

I don't think being 1-1 at the start of his boxing career means all that much Donaire, Hopkins and Marquez were 1-1 in thier first 2 fights. ( Marquez lost by DQ though.)

Still don't think he would have been one of the best if boxed though.

he lost to a bum when he tried boxing. he went 1-1

there's footgae of him on youtube looking horrible in the one fight he won in boxing, he tried pulling an ali shuffle against some bum and got rocked hahaha

just shows how superior boxing striking and footwork is whe the gretaest MMA fighter ever can't even look good against rookie bums

It shows how superior boxing striking and footwork is to boxing striking and footwork. Take said rookie bums and put them in a muay thai fight with Anderson and see how they do. Or take ATG boxers, either way, things won't go well for them. Different sports, different styles of fighting, different strengths and weaknesses.

What does 1-1 have to do with anything, that was years ago and he was green as hell.

Loads of boxers have lost in their early stages of their career.
