Not saying he will but IF Alexander was to wipe Bailey out inside 3 rounds for example...looking absolutely devastating, would Eddie Hearn and Kell Brook still push to get their immediate title shot? Well will they? And if so...how are they planning to work it? Are they going to go to St Louis? Because they are pissing in the wind and kidding themselves if they actually think Devon Alexander is going to Sheffield for a mandatory and I think we all know that isn't goin to happen AT ALL. So what I'm really asking is...regardless what they say, what is the true likelihood that Kell Brook is actually fighting for this world title after his next fight? I think it's unlikely.
Alexander looked very good in his last fight but I think Brook has to take the fight. For the last few years, Brook has been talking about earning a mandatory shot so he has to take his chance when he gets it. A loss to Alexander would not be that devastating to Brook's career, Brook might even win though.
Kell Brooks confidence was shattered against carson jones. They realized he is still not world class level. I bet he won`t fight alexander after his next fight.
He really might win. I don't rate Alexander. But are they prepared to go to St Louis to get it done? Sure as **** won't happen in Sheffield. Brooks career is a joke if after all this they don't get Devon next. But I think there will be an excuse for it not happening along the lines of either...the money wasn't acceptable or they couldnt agree on a venue
I'd also be willing to bet it doesn't happen. Look like another final eliminator is on the cards. This will be his 5th one won't it?
I rate Aleexander on the same type level that I see Andre Berto. Legit world class talent but not that much better then Peterson, Khan, Ortiz, Berto, Kotelnil, Madiana, Mattysse and all the other talented by some what flawed fighters around his wt class. Bailey is good but I won't favour him over any one of these guys (even Khan). So yes I expect him to lose. As far as Kell brooke I'd say that he probably does belong in the discussion with the rest of the flawed but talented top fighters in the division. So as far as him travelling to St. Lious, he might have to but I wouldn't say its out of the question that he gets a win in St. Lious. Ya Alexander has gotten some gifts in that town but you can only go to that well so many times before the close ones start going the otherway.
He may very well outpoint Bailey, but the only thing Devon Alexander annihilates is the interest of people watching his fights.
Could this possibly be the reason why they are now talking Khan?(if they genuinely both are) To deflect attention away(and a crowd pleasing alternative) in case they don't go on to fight for the world title anytime soon?
If Brook becomes mandatory & it goes to purse bids then there's a decent chance Matchroom will win & get to choose the venue. Alexander isnt a massive name with huge financial backing. If Brook turns down the Alexander fight it will be the 3rd title shot he's avoided.
Yeah I cant see Brook going to fight Alexander in his backyard anytime soon, Hearn would rather line him up for big domestic money spinners against Hatton and Khan for now. Shame cos I reckon Brook causes Alexander all kinds of problems, cant win a decision in St. Louis tho
Alexander is more experienced and has better physical gifts than Brook...I would favor Alexander, he's beaten and been in with far better opposition.
I think it'll happen in Sheffield in all honesty, I don't know enough about Alexander to actually try guess a result, going off what I've seen Brook would win though.
