Ward by comfortable decision or last round stoppage, with Andre starting to sit down on his punches in the later stages of the fight I think it's entirely possible Bute's soft chin wont hold up. Of course that is assuming Ward decides to press the action to close the show, rather than being content to coast to the finish line.

Not arguing any of those points. I'm just saying: we've not seen enough of Bute to think the only way to penetrate his defence, is the way Froch and Andrade did.

From what I remember, Johnson didn't land anything notable on Bute. It was a cagey fight that Bute controlled; preventing Johnson from working away like he normally would have liked. So again, Johnson having more punching power than Ward, is irrelevant.

Yes, I agree. His style will not be that much of a walk in the park for Ward. He'll have his difficulties. But I'm pretty sure he'll solve him.

In the first half he was throwing it fine, yes. But in the 6th (I think) he damaged it. He said so himself it was hurting him and he had to endure it. But if you wanna' continue thinking a damaged hand can still be used 100% to its capacity, despite Ward himself saying so otherwise, then there's nothing I can say.

The **** has Calzaghe got to do with this?

And bollocks did Froch wear Ward out. That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard. Ward breezed through him. He took his foot off the gas in the latter rounds because he had the fight won and saw no need to forcing himself into exchanges with a damaged hand, and consequently allowed Froch to have his "moments". But if you think Froch was bringing the heat on him and making the pace uncomfortable, then you're kidding yourself. Ward dealt with him easily, regardless of what those ridiculous scorecards say.

It doesn't mean much to me, either. Dawson's punch resistance was clearly reduced. But he showed right there what his so-called "feather-fists" can do if someone's chin is below par. Bute's chin, whilst it might not be as bad a 168 Dawson's, is not guaranteed to be completely immune from from whatever Ward may bring.

To me Bute fought a dumb fight vs Froch and Froch fought maybe his best performance

I think Bute is better than what we saw vs Froch and so many are writing him off so easily

Ward doesnt hit as hard as Froch and wont come after him like Froch did

I think Bute is pretty quick and has fast and dangerous punching, if he gets to Ward's liver anything can happen

Lets not get carried away. There's two big factors. One, Bute's chin wasn't the problem it was him pissing down his leg when he had to leave his comfort zone thus Froch blitzed him. Two, Froch annihlating Bute does not mean Ward would as styles make fights and Ward aint blitzing no one unless they're drained like Dawson or submissive like Green.

That said I still would like to see Ward/Bute but Ward had a point in saying Bute needed to step it up and to Bute's unfortune he looked horrible when he did.

Seeing as how Bute couldn't out-think Froch, I don't see him have much success in landing a big shot. He's definitely not going to outbox Ward. And judging by how weak Bute's chin is, Ward could possibly stop him. Bute has a chance to land a big shot, but imo he doesn't have the skill to repeatedly find a home for those killer blows.

Ward by 8th round ko. Bute was overhyped and I bought into it myself.

I think many are overlooking Bute's weakness, and seriuosly overrating him in the process...Bute may be a decent boxer at mid-range, but his inside fighting ability is very limited and he get expose if\when he fights Ward...Yes styles makes fights, thats a no brainer but dont think for one second that Ward doesnt know this and would be in Bute's chest for most of the fight.
