I just watched the Haye fight, typical brit hype job. The guy keeps his left and right hand low. Throws the same overhand right while leaving himself open for any punch to come back. He is hot garbage with power. The guy enzo fought scared and he was not even GOOD, let alone a top fighter.
Take it that and the Mormeck fight are the only ones that you have seen? Haye went after Enzo and fought like that because he had no respect for Enzo and just wanted to knock him out :good
No, the guy has about 20 fights SO I SEEN ABOUT 1/4 OF HIS CAREER. I seen him fight that ******ed heavyweight. And the thompson guy that cracked him with repeated left hooks. Like I said, he has no defense. No FIGHT CAME ON THE INSIDE..he will get roasted at heavy by the first guy to walk through his telegraphed punches.
You are either lying or blind. He hurt Thompson with a shot and had him in the corner and then just stood there, he could barely even throw another punch. His arms were both down and his mouth was open as he breathed heavily. He couldn't move out of range or cover up he was so badly gassed. He got dropped and got up and then took more shots as he had nothing left. He was TOTALLY gassed.
Thats a fight I want to see.... but I see it going the other way. It would be a great next outting for Haye. Everyone would right there and then whether he is for real at HW. The simply could not be any questioning him as a HW contender if he put a fighter of Povetkins class away.
Why do you think he's "not a real heavyweight?" The guy is lean at about 230lbs, and kills himself to make 200lbs. He's 6'3", broad in the shoulders, and heavily muscled. Believe me, he won't be a 'small heavyweight'...consider he'll be a ripped 225lbs - 230lbs, against fairly soft looking 250 pounders. His lean body mass will be considerably more than many heavyweights.
I guess we will have to agree to disagree Kirk. The big thing for me is that when Michael Moorer and Evander Holyfield moved up from lower weight classes they were really blowing threw people. They were not getting dropped and knocked out along the way. Also, just as someone else pointed out Haye's hands start dropping later in fights. This kind of stamina lapse will cost him big and quickly in the heavyweight ranks. I think Haye is a fine talent and can beat almost anyone, but that is not a reason to move up. Especially, when there is a lot of good competition still at crusier.
So I watched Haye last night. This guy has a thin frame, a long sloping neck, and a small head. Haye looks chinny to me, and somehow got cut by the few punches Enzo landed in a short 2 round fight. Showtime says he has stamina and chin problems, and Haye has a low guard.. Are you kidding me? Wlad would dust this guy with the first solid punch he lands. I do think Haye has good speed, good power, and good skills. I welcome him as a heavyweight. At least he'll make things intersting....until he has to take a heavyweight punch.
hey **** face you obviously haven't watched haye vs thompson, if you did you would know his corner threw the towel in, nice try though:hi:
Danny Williams disagrees, "Once David has put on the extra weight he will be punching even harder than Wladimir Klitschko," Williams said. "I've sparred with him a million times and I have hardly ever been hit so hard. "I was immensely impressed and I can see this move up to heavyweight as the start of the next big thing for British boxing. I'd put him in with any of the champions tomorrow and I think he'd beat them all. "His level of improvement has been colossal and every time you see him he looks even better. People question his chin but I've hit it often enough in sparring and he hasn't gone anywhere."
Money is the name of this game, and a lot of money can be made at heavy weight. Therefore Haye should give it a try.I,too, doubt that Haye will make that much noise at heavy weight, but he may be able to collect some big paychecks there. His nutty fans already adore him as the king of the hill-it doesnt really matter to them that up to now Haye's only claim to fame at heavy weight has been a ko victory against a very limited Polish journeyman
