That's exactly what I was thinking.

That being said we should wait to hear the finding of the USADA in full before we burn him at the stake. It could all prove to be something of a witch hunt but it certainly doesn't look good at present.

The problem with this and others who have failed samples by the USADA is that their findings need to be made public for the fans. All we have to go on is the information circulated by the promoters etc. The system needs to be transparent for the fans to see. That would help to us to decide if they were actually trying to cheat before we forever lable them one.

Agreed. I really don't want to see a "boxing let an old guy who tested positive go into the ring and inflict significant damage on a young unbeaten fighter" story.

Not like there's ever a good place for that to happen, but lawyer nuts New York is one of the last. This is boxing's first card at the Barclay's Center, a new venue located closer to where real people, real fans live. We don't want boxing banned from there after one card like it was from Dodger Stadium 50 years ago.

 

It would be quite problematic. I think a positive test needs to be followed up with an analysis of whether the substance actually endangers an opponent, and treated subsequently.

 

You could down play technique, skill, speed, power, etc...but you cant never, ever down play experience which is something you cant take away!
