    Ali beat the best fighters he faced, many times as an underdog, besides Holmes. Keeping him out of the top 5 is almost criminal.

    Ali outside the top 10 all time is fine. I disagree with it, but once you get passed the top 6 (who I believe are dead set in their spots), you've got about 7 or 8 guys who all have an argument to break the top 10.

    Those same idiots would probably throw someone like Pep in over Ali because he fought mainly in black and white :-(

    I've got him around 8th. The Liston fights are shrouded in infamy and doubt, he lost to the best version of Frazier he fought when both were as close to their best as they could've been and he dropped 2 of 3 to Norton, without too much argument. Foreman was obviously huge and he ran through a great number of other contenders during the 60s and 70s. I think his spot is plenty fair.. I don't consider him or his resume better than Robinson, Armstrong, Greb, Langford and Charles. Fitzsimmons and Duran both have some very lofty achievements to certainly hold an argument. Benny Leonard ran through a LW Golden Era himself, Barney Ross went 4-1 against two other fighters I'd give heavy consideration to be in the Top 20 all-time. I consider SRL a better talent and easily matching him for top-of-the-line wins, cleaning out 147 to boot, and very quickly at that. What about Mickey Walker? Archie Moore? It's a tough crowd. I do rate him top ten, though.

    As do I, as does big O, as does cobra. Whoever doesn't DKSAB.:twisted:

    How many times did they call for Ali/Clay to get killed and he turned the trick? that means ALOT in terms of greatness.

    Ali's wins over : Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Norton match up as good as any fighter's in history.

    Also an olympic gold medalist and did **** that no heavyweight before or after pulled off. There is just too much evidence for him. It's important to note 4 of those wins came as the UNDERDOG.

    True. The thing is, Duran dominated a division (135) he should have. Ali did it against the odds, and then some.
