What did you think of Devon Alexander's performance against Bailey?

Most of the reason the fight was boring was because Bailey threw about 100 punches(compubox gave him credit for those soft jab feints which weren't doing anything). Alexander threw about 550. Devon did his job, Bailey just didn't seem to want to unload.

 

LOL...Bailey set the compubox record for least punches thrown/landed, but it was Alexander who "stunk up the joint"? Bailey is not to be ****ed with, you win the fight and get the **** out of there, Devon executed his plan and got the win.

 

Boring fight. Alexander did what he had to, but at times he looked poor and ineffective. Bailey should have thrown more.

Good win for Devon, but he did himself no favors. His style just is not very entertaining to watch. But he did what he had to do.

 

That's why Alexander is getting the blame. If he did so little against such an inactive fighter, there's a problem. What would Matthysse, Rios, Marquez or Ortiz done against someone who is doing **** all? They'd have beat the **** out of him. Alexander is happy to box and spoil his way to a dull decision win.

I think Alexander is a joke. The hype on him was so high years ago. I remember Rafael calling him the heir to Mayweather's throne, which is an awful prediction yet one plenty of people went along with. He's such an ugly, annoying fighter.

 

Voted "Bad" but I'd be more likely to call it "alright." He picked his quick single and double shots well, but never put forth any meaningful offense.

 

It was a smart, disciplined performance against a dangerous puncher; and though he was pretty skittish in the early going, from about the sixth round on, he started to connect with a bit more frequency.

It was Bailey's responsibility to find a way to corner his foe and force him to engage. For whatever reason, he was unwilling to do so, so he assumes the lion's share of the blame for the snoozefest we were forced to endure.
