I give Rios full credit for a superb win (even though we all know he got shut out by Abril) but I thought the ref stopped it a little too soon. I don't need to see Alvarado get ruined forever, but he had his hands up and he was trying to clinch, its possible he could have made it out of the round, taken a minute's rest, and then tried to just survive at distance for a round and regenerate.

    Possible yes, unlikely yes.

It was still a great fight.

The stoppage was fair. I didn't need to see Alvarado get clocked once more to tell me he was out.

N'Dam and Ajose refs showed how you ref a top echelon fight.
Like I said the night of the fight, the fact that Rios was ahead on the cards tellls you all you need to know about that fight and why the ref did what he did. Probably told him to say that line too.

There was a HUGE difference in "CLEAN PUNCHES" in both fights. The Rios/Alvarado fight had A LOT of clean, flush power punches that caused a lot of damage that cold be seen on both fighters faces.

Quillin/N'Dam had a lot of KD's but there weren't many clean, flush shots that found the mark in the 12 round fight. There was far less damage taken/recieved in this fight vs the fight between Rios/Alvarado.

N'Dam's legs were never the same after the first KD and his equilibrium was definitely affected...he eventually gathered himself and got his legs back under him but the foundation was unsettled and partially landed left hooks were putting him on the ground. N'Dam wasn't every hurt as bad as Alvarado off any of the KD's scored by Peter.

Alvarado was definitely hurt and the stoppage was a good call by the ref.

yes, N'dam was dropped 6 times, but was good to go after getting up each time with a clear head and legs that weren't bambi like...

alvarado on the other hand was gone! one more shot could have really hurt him. he would have been knocked the **** out, bad. that was a perfect stoppage. there was no need to stop the N'dam fight as he was no where near to being as hurt as alvarado was.

he's not on point at all, he's clearly talking rubbish. when a mans gone, he's gone. that's why alvarado was stopped.
