I agree with this. Ruiz was schooling him and winning on all 3 (including mine) cards. Tua probably got too much credit for that "win".

 

Victor is a weird ****ing guy. He (allegedly) fought four rounds with a broken Jaw but pussed out once it started to seem like he could get knocked out. He went boom for boom with Berto and even though he was knocked down 2 times he never quite. I watch the guy who seemed poshest and went to war in the Berto fight and I wonder who the **** showed up to the Lopez fight and the Miadana fights. It seems like if he's in trouble he'll war it out until he decides in his mind that he's not going to break the other guy and once he decides that he just up and quits the fight.

He earned my respect and should get all the credit in the world cause he was in it to win it and he matched Ortiz punch for punch. Then he broke his weak as chin and made him back the **** up outta there. He beat the ***** outta Ortiz.:yep

It doesn't matter who was ahead on the score cards, he broke Ortiz jaw and made him quit and won the fight.

 

Lopez got the credit he deserved. Were Ortiz a mentally tough fighter, Lopez wouldn't have beaten him, but Ortiz(with the exception of the Berto fight) is a headcase. Regardless, he is a talented one and Lopez was moving up in weight so it was a still a very nice upset. However, I wouldn't rank Lopez any better than top 20 or so at Welterweight.

Alvarez gets minimal credit for beating Lopez because he had far better options in his own weight class, Lopez had to move up in weight again, and style-wise Lopez was made to order for Alvarez.

 

Just by posting that Ortiz was ahead on the cards goes to show that you are just a follower. Anyone who had Ortiz ahead clearly bet on him or is related to him. Lopez clearly was ahead. He was actually nearly dominating that fight towards the end. He definitely got the better of Ortiz over the entire fight and closed the show.

Lopez if he goes back down to 140 will dominate the division. People want to act like Garcia is unstoppable because he stopped a veteran with about 65 ring years and Khan who is known for having a weak chin.

Matthysse and Lopez will be the rulers of the division. Before you guys get stupid and say Danny stops either of these remember that Matthysse also beat the **** out of Alexander who is a big puncher also. Ortiz another huge puncher could not even put a dent on Lopez either.

 

Great win for Lopez, but I think if they ever fought again Ortiz takes him out

 

Lopez deserves much credit for facing both men despite being above his best class. He was seen as a stepping stone for Ortiz to Saul but interrupted that from happening. It was painful to see Saul, the much bigger man, tear him apart but at least he got paid well and has gained lots of fans and admirers for his bravery. Hope he fights on to give us battles but retires with his health intact. Most guys of his exciting style dont sadly.

 

No, he deserves tons of credit. However I think Ortiz is actually being underrated at this point and I still favor him in a rematch. Well if he can actually fix his jaw that is.
