Pretty decent fight actually, although personally i'd prefer to see Brandon Rios v Danny Garcia. I think Rios' chin would hold up and force Danny into a real war.
Brook has also shown a pretty sturdy chin. So Garcia and his one punch assaults might not have as much effect if he lands clean.
Interesting take. I think Brook could get caught with a few clips from the left hook. Because he fights in that pocket, sometimes very still and stiff, asking for and wide open for, a midrange wide hook. He can get lazy and over confident. But if he remains level headed and just picks his shots (which seem to be his best attribute, picking shots accurately) he can also make a one dimensional fighter miss a lot, if he knows what the danger punch is......which he does here. It's that left hook of Garcia's, to many fighters go into trade and scrap with Garcia, and that plays straight into his hands. Kell to me, seems a bit smarter than that. Personally, I think its an easy nights work for Kell. Easier than Alexander. I thought about this fight on the night of Morales-Garcia. It crossed my mind and I just think its easy work. Kell UD12. :thumbsup
I like your break down, i think your right, if he boxes and picks his shots cleverly then he could win on points, i've been impressed the way Brooke throws his combinations and moves away. If he can condition himself for a 12 rounder of in-out combinations and moving around with decent footwork he should have enough to outpoint Garcia. However in now way do i think it would be an easy nights work, Garcia has more about him the one left hook.
Brook's a big welterweight and Garcia doesn't struggle @ 140, so I think Brook could outpoint him, even though I don't like Brook's 'reflex' defense and Garcia's honey punch is the left hook
Garcia has mixed in better company, even being a weight class below. Brook hasn't shown us whether his style works up with the better fighters in the world.
Your not a loud to agree with me on here though mate. Apparently I'm a troll and 90% of my posts are giving Kell Brook a kicking.
Are people actually calling Garcia OVERRATED? Last time I checked the dude had a bunch of titles and has knocked out/beaten some impressive names.. Danny's biggest scalp = Khan. That's a great scalp for ANYBODY. Brook's biggest scalp = Matthew Hatton (after 26 fights odd). I like Brook, seem's like a good kid that has some good skills, but Garcia is a few levels above him. Garcia is BEATING WORLD CLASS FIGHTERS whilst Brook isn't even FACING world class fighters.
So is the quality of a fighter entirely derivable from who they've fought? Interesting take on things i guess.
The Khan win is obviously a good one for Garcia but who are these other world class fighters that he has been taking on and beating? Holt wasn't a bad win but its hardly stellar
