Who wins Mathysse vs. Garcia?

Matthysse by late round stoppage. I'll go with him TKO'ing Garcia in the 10. I highly doubt Garcia hits harder than Judah, whose power didn't seem to bother Matthysse at all. LM has also fought the clearly better opposition to this point as well.

 

Matthysse wasn't able to smack Zab Judah senseless. How you figure Lucas does that to Garcia who boxes better than him, punches as hard and has an iron chin? When he couldn't do it to the most mentally weak top tier fighter of the decade? Look, I know you're a butthurt Khan fan who takes solace knowing that Lucas couldn't clearly beat a guy Khan demolished but c'mon son. Lucas stands a chance in this fight but Garcia is the more versatile dude and can box as well as brawl. If Matthysse was so great he woulda blown Zab out like Khan and Clottey did. This is a great close fight where I think Garcia just has more tools, but wouldn't be shocked by a close win for Matthysse either. Either way to say that it's a domination for Matthysse shows YDSAB!!!

I've noticed that all Khan fans are suddenly big Matthysse fans! The UK hates Garcia.

 

Mathysse would be in Garcia's stuff all night. I feel like he can take what Garcia has to dish out, and throws with too much volume and power for Garcia to handle. Garcia would have to do something to stop that pressure and IMO his answer would be power shots (as hes definitely not a jabber/mover) and i think we all know who's winning a slug fest here. So hes not able to box and move, he can't match Lucas in volume and hes not winning a shootout. How can he win? Lol IMO it would be to try and time Lucas with power punches in between the volume, but Lucas is not defensively reckless and actually has an underrated defense. I'd take Mathysee and feel very strongly about it.

 

Great post brother, I mean the selective memory here is hilarious when examining Lucas as a fighter....its like okay the Zab fight was close but it really could have gone either way, he ain't destroy Zab the way Tszyu,Cotto,Floyd,Clottey and Khan did, so what gives?......Lucas did legitimately get robbed by Devon Alexander and managed to knock him down but he ain't the first to get robbed against Alexander, Kotelnik also got robbed, so are people here at ESB going to start overrating Kotelnik as well?

Garcia has more tools

I got no agenda, this has nothing to do with Khan I just say it how I see it. You dont go life and death with domestic level Ashley Theophane if you got top level boxing skills. Matthysse is so much more technically sound than Garcia its a joke, if you cant see that I feel for you. Garcia cant fight coming forward, all he can do is wait and counter. As soon as he faces anyone with a pulse he'll get clowned

Do not do it brother, I admire your confidence in Danny. But this is a tough fight for both fighters. Although I favor Lucas in this one, I do not dismiss Garcia's chances. Hell, I didn't think he was going to beat Khan and he proved me wrong, big time.

neither gets KO'd in this one. I rate both as having great chins. But I beleive Matthysse who is a slow starter catches Garcia with enough blows throughout the fight, to leave Garcia badly cut and bruised.

Garcia, cuts up easily with his lilly delicate skin. The fight would be stopped late on once Matthysse has Garcia bleeding like virgin on her first night.

 

Don't read too much. into that. Khan had a higher percentage choosing him before his fight with Garcia. He's always being sold short because he hasn't got any real standout qualities, a bit like Bradley he always gets the win.

I personally think he has a Solid chin and good pop on his punches. Also goes to the body well. His wide swinging punches are both a negative and positive for him.

 

I wouldn't say that. His power and timing are both excellent qualities.

 

Agree with you. But if you remeber before the khan fight, no one really gave him a chance. Like his dad says, he's always looked down as an underdog but he always comes through. his power was only really well publicised after last two fights, even though i was saying he had good power before he KO'd khan (which i predicted). Timing was not something that stands out to casual fans or even some boxing fans who havn't seen much from a guy. it's not a qaulity like speed which most people can see - for example Khans hand speed.

his timing and power are top level, but he needs to do it against someone else now. Blown up shot morales and a fighter in khan who has well known punch resistance question marks . if he shows it against a Matthysse or Bradley, he will get far more credit for his qualitites.
