I hate running with a passion.

Even when I'm following the trainer's orders I'll do anything to run the less possible and get out of it as soon as I can, including faking injuries. I must clarify I'm not a lazy bum, I can hit heavy bags until my arms go numb and sweat like a pig doing all kind of exercises, I just hate running.

As you can imagine, my stamina leaves much to be desired

So please tell me some exercises that can replace running, so I can do them in the safety of the gym or inside my house, away from all that foul air, bumpy roads and disgusting strangers

    Hill sprints.

    Man the **** up.

  4. Do plyometrics. "Acquire" the video from the p90x workout. It kills you but will get your legs really strong.

    all of the above...

some of my mates used to hate running too, but once you open your mind and start to embrace it everything changes. Start going for light runs and slowly progress your way up and i'm pretty sure one day you will enjoy it. There's this 'runner's high' which i used to experience very frequently during my days in cross country and it felt GREAT.

but if you really cant get yourself to start running, do skipping and plyometrics. those are great too

Running is pretty much bs anyway.

lmao at boxers running miles and miles when boxing is mostly anaerobic. Say hello to joint problems.

Biking, rowing and swimming are adequate replacements, as is sprinting.

I wont be an ******* mostly cause its not in my nature. look at running this way: a way to clear your mind and beat you down. when you're tired is when EVERYTHING matters. Military experience.

I agree, running is not the be all and end all. I know guys who say I run miles and miles and yet they can barely last a couple of rounds.

Although I do still think there's value in it, for other reasons.

Cross-fit type training would also get my vote for the anaerobic conditioning which running/jogging does not provide. Whatever gets you breathless and borderline puking for at least 20 minutes

Rather than just quitting running what are some variations to keep it entertaining/challenging?
