It's a powerful shot, but it's also wide. In both the Khan and Morales knockdowns Garcia actually throws the hook from his hip level. He puts his whole bodyweight into it too. He gets away with it because he times his opponent and throws while they're initiating their own shot, which makes the counter more devastating.

That being said, Morales is shot, and Khan is infamous for having bad punch resistance, something that has haunted him for his whole career. We need to see Garcia taking on other opponents before judging his power properly.

 

Garcia is getting too much credit for breaking a chinaware and KOing a much faded fighter! Ever remember how shot Morales was against Pac six years ago?:huh
