Time to again test the bad boys of Eastside's MMA forum...men who have defeated James Toney, Vitali Klitschko, and Hulk Hogan in submission matches,...some have defeated Ronnda Rousey, though almost all have fallen before the mighty chess nerd Josh Waitzkin. But now we have another opponent..one Ed O'Neill, first the facts: Born April 12, 1946, so he isn't a young guy, 66 in fact. Pretty big guy, not sure of the stats, but not a small man. Damn good natural athlete, played football (the American kind for you Brits) for Youngstown State University (Defensive Lineman) and even played for one year for the Pittsburgh Steelers (but was cut). Now when I had the James Toney thread, and brought up his athletic ability, many of ESB's posters maintained that because he was fat and older, he really wasn't a good athlete, and maintained that in fact, they were definitely better athletes. Now, for grappling background...has trained for over 20 years in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, got his black belt in 2007 under Rorion Gracie. Some film for you to consider... I'm not ashamed to say that this sitcom actor who is more than twice my age makes a fool out of me on the mat. :conf

Why wouldn't he? He's bigger, probably still stronger, twice the natural athlete I am, and he has decades of grappling experience with high-level trainers. I'd be embarrassed for HIM if he failed to submit me quickly and easily.

Just out of idle curiosity, I did a search for Stoo's posting history on the forum.

    His last 10 posts:

Three were "**** off Johnstown!" and nothing else

One was "**** off leejunfan" and nothing else

Two were "" and nothing else

One was the single word "Puppies!" and nothing else

And three out of ten actually had anything at all to do with an MMA discussion.

Which is a shame, because he actually does have knowledge and can make good contributions to a discussion. He can actually improve the standard of this half-dead subforum if he wants to. But instead of that, he prefers to just troll and be a dick, all the time for no reason, and ruin threads instead of contributing to them. Shame. :-(

Yeah, i did once make a somewhat dickish troll thread myself in here (the one about Karate) and Stoo decided to make me a target. The thing was a I was perma banned back in 2011, and would come back under alts. Sometimes I let the cat outta bag, but other times i tried not to let it be know that it was me. Inspite of that, Stoo would find me often on my first post...I would post in the lounge, and 5 seconds later he would reply with a "**** Off Johnstown"...it was actually kind of impressive.

It's an MMA discussion forum filled with grown men. I don't know why anyone would choose to act like they're sitting at the bitchy girls' table in a middle-school cafeteria, trying to impress the head cheerleader by being the meanest, most gossipy girl at the table. :conf

Anyway, enough of this. I answered your original post, now I'm done talking ****. :good

He's a blackbelt, who has been training for years. He is also a big dude, he'd sub me real fast.

Wow was he accurate with most of those? I always thought he was just telling random people to **** off thinking they were you. That actually is quite impressive.

I don't know if it's impressive that he has the deductive skills to figure it out quickly, or if it's sad that he's so obsessed with a random stranger on the internet that he can sniff the guy out wherever he goes.

Yeah I'd be quicker than him for sure. Probably fitter too, depending on how serious he is about keeping in shape. Aaaaaaand........ that's about it.

He outweighs me by a LOT, he'd be stronger than I am, and there's no substitute for 20 years of rolling with the Gracies.

What did you do to set him off in the first place? :huh He clearly has a real hard-on for you, but it seems to be completely one-way. :conf

yeah...at 66 a guy keeps most of his strength if active and healthy..in fact you can often keep getting stronger into his 50s. Just a personal side note, my father passed away a month ago at 79....he could beat me at arm wrestling up until I was 20....than over the winter 2000 he got pneumonia and got weaker and lost weight..and I cut down on my distance running (went from running 30 miles a week down to 4 miles) started doing powerlifting and took in allot of protein and creatine...went from 160 to 195 or so, and after that i could beat him at arm wrestling without too much effort. Had he not gotten sick though, it would likely have been a battle that spring.
