    if virgil teaches khan

    1. to box at all times.

    2.never exchange

    3. keep right hand up at all times

    4. use the jab

i feel if khan had done this vs garcia he beats him by UD or beats him

if khan can do this things he will not lose at 140.

These are quite vague really. He has been boxing, and he has been exchanging (that is essentially what boxing is).

Just a couple of things I would like to see, but not sure if Khan is able to learn.

    1. Footwork - This is the number one area IMO that needs improving. His balance is not very good at all for the level he has reached in his career, and is the main reason he overreaches often. His footwork is also his main form of defense from what I have seen, which is very worrying because you can't just rely on your footspeed to get you out of trouble.

    2. Defense - Khan doesn't parry often, doesn't block often, doesn't use head movement, doesn't slip punches, doesn't roll with punches (the main reason he takes punches flush). He can't just rely on the high guard to weather storms, he doesn't have the resistance for it. Someone like Pacquiao who employs similar-ish defense can get away with a high guard because he has a very solid and tested chin, Khan does not.

    3. Punch variety - He has become quite predictable, bounces in, throws, 2-3 punches, bounces out. Either a 1-2, a double jab-right, 1-2 hook...now and again he mixes it up to body, and maybe throws the uppercut 3-4 times in a bout, but that's about it. He needs to develop more combinations because his predictability will put him in trouble again. Khan can usually miss the first punch or 2 in a combination, and lands with the second or third. Opponents are likely to see this, make him miss the first punch or two, at this point, he will likely be off balance with his weight centered at the front, his opponents will then start throwing to land at the same time he is throwing the 2nd-3rd punch in his combination and land clean.

I could probably go on, but this is what I would like them to target straight away if they can.

this ^ ! Next time when he'll face another serious opponent with pop in his fists , he'll get floored again ! :yep

Ward is a special fighter with great psychically and physical attributes and besides that he was trained by Virgil since he had 9 years old .

he needs to teach Khan that his main defensive and offensive weapon can be his jab, khan has a great jab, but uses it as a range finder for his right, which he seems to think is a vicious right hand - AK needs to realise that he hasn't got mosley type of power.

If he stays dedicated behind his jab, alot of his problems would go away. His balance would improve if he had a better jab, because he would dictate distance with his height, reach and speed with a good jab. He has got excellent footspeed, but poor footwork - one of the main reasons I felt he should have gone with pedro diaz.

Needs to throw more body punches, reason he can be effective to the body is because he can blind fighters with quick flurry to the head then land a solid body punch when the opponent is covering up to the head.

Defence, his guard isn't that bad, his chin is not that bad, he has been hit with an average of less than 30% of his opponents punches, the problem comes from the punches he takes, He takes flush punches and doesn't roll with the punches at all

The only way to help Khan now is to use surgery and magic to transfer a good chin onto him. He has good skills IMO but just not much chin

    Just improve his stamina.

He was doing well early, but always fade around the middle rounds, hence why his bouts with Maidana and Peterson went as close as it should be.

Exactly, if anyone could just be programmed like a computer to box we would all be world ****ing champions.

Khan's inability to learn is his main fault. He does what he does, and that's it.

Hunter needs to teach him how to fight on the inside, at the moment all Khan can do is stand squared up with a high guard. Khan needs to learn how & when to clinch, how to drop his weight on an opponent, how to pivot & turn in small circles & most importantly, Khan needs to tuck his chin a lot more.

Khan also needs to learn to relax & breathe in the ring, to conserve his energy. He's full of nervous tension & is constantly in motion, always trying to do something.

He needs to stop trying to fight like Pac & start watching Ward.

I used to think the same of Wlad. Khan clearly has no ring intelligence, he hasn't learned from his previous mistakes and I doubt he ever will but it's not impossible as long as he has an intelligent coach who can do his thinking for him and he swallows his pride and desire to look good and just follows instructions.

Khan is a very flawed fighter he initially improved under Roach though not in the ways I would like and he has seemed to have regressed ever since beating Maidana.

Khan needs to become less predictable. He always leads which is why a counter puncher like Garcia was a nightmare for him. It is either all defence or all offence with Khan, never a natural balance or transition between the 2 because he doesn't know how to effectively counter. Which is why Peterson was able to easily pick his moments to be aggressive and steal rounds. Simply too predictable.

He needs to learn a better defence other than simply just using his feet, running and keeping his opponent at range. He needs to be able to parry shots, slip shots with head and upper body movement. He can't keep everyone off him all the time, he needs to learn how to tie up an opponent which based upon Ward he has picked the right coach to teach him this.

While very agile and mobile his tendency to jump in and bounce around compromises his balance and leaves him prone to being countered when he does miss. Look at Ward, he has superb footwork. Ward has short arms so is at his best at mid range and in close, yet so easily transitions from being out of range to being right in your face. Look at the way he seemed to just walk in past Froch and Dawsons superior reach. He makes it look so easy.

Khan has a lot to learn and even if he does learn every trick from his knew trainer he has shown a natural tendency to abandon what is working to look good and try and get an impressive win and then fall flat on his face.

Khan just needs to fight disciplined, when he's fighting reckless it basically show's that he is fighting undisciplined like what he showed against Garcia. And that's what Hunter is there for, to make sure that Khan fights disciplined.

Khan is like Dawson. Dawson needs a trainer to discipline him and he's not getting that under Scully. Fortunately for Khan there is still hope for him.
