Absolutely, when you consider the fashion he won it in. Wins like that are rare.

You think Ward beating Dawson at 168 pounds, where he hadn't fought in 7 years, is as good as Mayweather beating Cotto at 154 pounds, where Mayweather hadn't fought in 5 years? Or as good as Froch destroying Bute in 5 rounds?

I think FOTY is without doubt Donaire. Vazquez Jr, Mathebula, Nishioka. Good stuff.

Then I've got to go with the list of guys like Sergio, Garcia, Matthysse, and maybe more deserving than all of them, Mario Rodriguez. Froch should he beat Mack will be among these guys as well.

For sure Danny Garcia. His relevance to the sport changed more in a year than some fighters ever will

... Robert Garcia for ToTY, especially for his work with Maidana

I think Dawson at 168 is a similar level opponent to Cotto at 154. I'd rate him higher at 175, but expect the same result against Ward. Ward beat the **** out him. PBF's win over Cotto was a good, competitive fight, but not like what Ward did to Dawson. A lot of people discredit Ward because of how badly he beat up Dawson. Think about it.

I agree with you on it being a great win. I rank the single best individual wins of the year as being, in no order:
    Ward over Dawson
    Froch over Bute
    Mayweather over Cotto
    Jaro over Wonjongkam
    Donaire over Nishioka
    Garcia over Khan
    Rodriguez over Joyi
    Dawson over Hopkins
    Pacquiao over Bradley *

Some solid wins over the past 12 months. His star is rising fast and he looks to be improving all the time. I guess I like his style of fighting.

Khan was stopped on his feet wasn't he? still the initial knockdown was very heavy & Morales did a 360 after that left hook.

Donaire was pretty dominant in his victories over Vazques jr, Mathebula and Nishioka.
