Hearn will lay down big money, Devon will vacate and Brook will fight Zaveck.

Pardon my ignorance, but what happens if Hearn goes silly and wins, then GPB call his bluff?
Are we not left with one potential stinker of a fight and the rest of the year waiting for matchroom to make their money back?

Sadly, I think this is very probable. Can just picture Brook fighting Zaveck. Guys no mug though.

it will annoy me as people will start to say "Brooks fought nobody" whens hes tried to make the Alexander fight.

I guarantee Hearn will make a bigger offer for Brook than what Alexander gets paid for his next fight.

From Hearns POV, as long as Brook has the belt, the Khan or Hatton fight can be made.

He hasn't tried to make the fight this is their plan all along, no american fighter will come to England they will get robbed but English have to travel overseas normally to get the title, Brook should have to go to america to fight for it he will probably get robbed but that's just the state boxings in now, if GBP win the purse bid I wanna see what excuse Hearns has for not goin over there

At first i was skeptical about Hearns ability to bring Alexander over here but then it seemed to make no sense that Bute would come to Nottingham when he had all the aces big draw in hometown with title....

He must have paid a lot to get Bute over here so I can only assume he would be willing to pay the big bucks to get somebody like Alexander over for his other flagship star in Brook. As mentioned a win over Devon would put Brook right in the mix and in the mix means big money.

I used to think the same way, but if a fighter can fill out arenas like Brook does, why should they have to go to the USA to beat whoever in front of a paltry audience?

The days of fighters toddling over to america just cos its whats expected of them cos its the way it always has been really should be kicked out by brit fans, its quite out of touch in todays world.

Burns expected to have to go to america when he can fill a 10000 seat arena back home. Same for Brook. Brit fans turn it from just a fight into a proper occasion also. It looks and feels wonderful.

Frank ****** had Hatton selling out arenas, & making massive money. However, Hatton decided to break away to do what brit fighters are 'expected' to do, & fight in America. I was of the opinion at the time also that it was the 'right thing to do' if you want to be the best, earn your stripes fighting in casinos in the USA!

The older I get, the more I nod my head from side to side at the thought of local heroes and big ticket sellers having to give it all up to fight in the USA against fighters who cant draw flies to a ****. It really doesnt make sense...

I think he could, he got a great reception when he came last time.

it'd probably be a co-feature type thing though

You make some good points but you could argue that Hatton going to the USA and the fan base he brought with him helped him get the big payday with floyd.

Hatton will have made more money in US fights than he did in any other. US TV + Casino fee smashes any arena in terms of revenue.
