At least twice during his career, but both times managed to get back in fighting shape right before fight. I feel like these are things that people over look regarding the heart of this man. He got **** loads of heart and rarely talk about his injuries that he sustained during training camp or prior to.
That's the mistake he did. Facing this crowd, he should have made those injuries more public to generate interest and appreciation. Most of the people will watch and judge with zero knowledge of his physical difficulties going in specific fights. Terrible thread title.
let's make a thread where floyd was forced to fight yearly even if he doesn't really want to fight anymore. what a heart floyd has for the game.
Its interesting for his fans and even those boxing fans who are objective however for most fans who don't like him (dare I call them haters?) it wont make no difference... They have never been able to give him credit they not gonna start due to an injury or two!
I watched Mayweather vs. Carlos Hernandez the other day. Could've been faking, but the KD he suffered seemed like a legit hand injury for sure. One of the more obvious. Plus, they'd said he visited a hand doctor the Monday before the fight to see if his hand was healed or re-broken in training... That said, I'm sure this happens many times to many fighters that we never ever hear about. Then again, with so many fight cancellations, maybe most don't go through with an injury.
