According to some on here, Ricky Burns is world class at Lightweight because he has fought world class opposition, like Katsidis.

So in that estimation, Audely Harrison is also world class, even more so, because his opponents have fought for world titles and at a higher level for long than Ricky Burns' 3 opponents.

If Audley wants to continue boxing and believes he can still go out on a high, then thats his decision and nobody should laugh or ridicule the man. Most of it is just mainstream media, "Let's all laugh at the man" "Let's all make a story"

He has done nothing wrong to them. You don't see Audley turning up at their houses banging on the door, if they decided to have curry for dinner, and not chicken rice and peas do you?

    LEAVE THE MAN ALONE.

He beat Michael Sprott and Danny Williams.

This isn't about winning or loosing though, this is about the level they are fighting at.....and if Ricky Burns is world class at Lightweight, like some :smh people claim on here, because his opponents have fought at world class level, like Katsidis for instance.

Then Audley Harrison is hall of fame material. :deal

You better believe it. If Ricky Burns is world class, so has to be Audley Harrison. If Ricky Burns is domestic level (which he is at the moment)......Audley Harrison is also domestic level.

you cant let this ricky burns **** go can you? you seem to bring him up alot, no matter what the thread subject is.
now your comparing ricky burns and audley harrison :patsch
no ricky's world class because he's a 2 weight world champion and has beat the WORLD RANKED opponents he faced easily. sure audley has faught david haye a top world level fighter and a hot prospect with huge world class potential in david price but that didnt go to well for him did it? im not even sure if audley has ever broke into the top ten in a poor heavy division. maybe he has tho.

ive got respect for audley for getting in the ring with the fighters he has, he's got huge pre fight balls but when he gets in the ring those balls turn into pish flaps! audley has always had talent but he cant fight. world class as an amature not in the pro's tho, he's had his chance's to prove that and failed. He has a few good wins on his record so he aint all that bad. he just never had the balls to pull the trigger in the bigger fights and his chin failed to stand up to the job.

crainy if your theory on what makes someone world class or domestic level is right then that means joe calzaghe was a domestic level fighter for like 90% of his career.

People are abusing Audley Harrison, so I am standing up for him!

If Audley Harrison is so bad, then why is he still around? Didn't he step in the ring with premium fighters then?.....Who have challenged at top level?

Audley Harrisons record is, 28 terrific fights, 21 fantastic wins by KO, lost 6, lost 3 by KO lucky punches, drawn 0.

Is that really such a bad fighter?

He went undefeated for 19 fights.

    Olympic GOLD medalist.

Beat Danny Williams, beat Michael Sprott, beat Ali Adams, was involved in fights with David Haye and David Price. Won Prizefighter. Former WBF champion, former EBU champion.

A very nice humble man from humble beginnings.

If Ricky Burns is being considered World Class for fighting the likes of Michael Katsidis, because of who Michael Katsidis has faced, like Marquez and Guerrero, if thats the case, then I'll let you have that, but you must also admit, so is Audley Harrison!

Michael Sprott has fought world class, same as Danny Williams, so as David Haye!

If people are calling Audley Harrison a failure, then what of their lives? All the ridicule and abuse, and he keeps going on, keeps smiling.

He is a credit and has thrived in life, he did make it, regardless of what those fat burger eating vulture pack journalists say.

i dont think anyone's saying ricky burns is being considered world class because of who his opponents faced. he's world class because he's a two weight world champion who has BEAT his world ranked opponents easily.

you do understand your theory on what makes fighters world class or domestic level would mean joe calzaghe faught most of his career at domestic level. joe was fed fighters of the calibre burns has faced at lightweight for most of his career. so craney was joe calzaghe 'domestic level' for most of his career? you do realise your theory would suggest that?

the hate is maybe over the top but i dont think people care if audley is a nice guy or not, he gets the hate because of the way he fights or has faught to put it fairer. yes he has some good wins but the way he faught against haye especially was pathetic. he never let his hands go at all, haye's first attack and he's on his arse. to be honest haye was a joke in that fight as well. biggest waste of money in years or maybe even ever. in the fight game fighters who tend to show no heart tend to get alot of stick.

i dont hate audley, i just dont care.

I don't think there is any doubt that Joe Calzaghe was domestic level for a very long time, and I'm not the only one who thinks that. A very very good boxer none the less, one of my favorites if not my favorite of all time.

But its very real that he may not have gone undefeated had he been really tested early on in his career, Chris Eubank was his only real top level opponent early on in his career.

Joe always had trouble in the ring and in fights with injury's, broken hands and all that. And had he fought the likes of Hopkins and Jones Jr when they were in their prime, I don't think Joe would have gone undefeated.

Those fights were made towards the end of Joes career, and when Hopkins and Jones Jr were well past it. (Particularly Jones Jr who had some devastating losses.)

The toughest and most credible fight Joe had in the later part of his career was against Mikkel Kessler.

When I look back now, I see Joe as a very very good boxer. But somebody who could be beat, had he fought the fighters in fights at specific times.

For instance, Roy Jones Jr years before when they did fight, or Bernard Hopkins years before they fought. I think Joe would have been exposed, I look at somebody like Andre Ward today, and I fail to see Joe beating Ward, even if they were both in their prime. Believe it or not, back in the day, there were fighters in their prime, just as good as Ward. Hopkins, Jones Jr and Toney for instance.

Joe only faced these very late in his career, where they were only a shadow of their former self.

At the moment, Ricky Burns is domestic level, but I don't think he'll be waiting around as long as Joe to prove if he is world class.

Joe Calzaghe was domestic level for a very long time.

i agree with everything you just said on joe calzaghe but not the domestic level bit. yes people question calzaghes resume and so do i but i dont think anyone has the opinion he faught at domestic level for a very long time after beating eubank, that'll be just you craney boy! i think you need to understand there's levels of world class just as there's levels of domestic class. just because a fighter isnt top tier world class or isnt fighting top tier world class opposition it doesnt make them 'domestic level'. this has always been my point craney!

Your domestic level for as long as you are fighting at the level. Being a world class boxer fighting at domestic level, doesn't make you world class. You can only be classed as world class, when your in those fights and fighting fighters at that level.

THEN you can be called world class.

I never said Ricky Burns can't be, he should be fighting De Marco now, not Broner. But if he remains fighting domestic level at Lightweight, he is domestic level.

Do not mix Super Featherweight and Lightweight, at Lightweight, Ricky Burns' opposition has been poor, Mitchells ranking is a lie, Moses nothing special. You CAN make an argument for Katsidis.

But one fight doesn't make you world class. It puts you on the path.

If he wants to continue, he should do so. He'd possibly make more money commentating and I don't want him to get badly hurt.

i'll say it again craney 'THERE IS DIFFERENT LEVELS OF WORLD CLASS!' thats why they have a ranking FFS! you seem to bang on about burns having to fight the likes of demarco to become world class :patsch no craney that would be a unification fight between 2 world champs to see who will become the unified champion. thee n1

if your theory on this was right then how many world class fighters would there be in a division? do all the top tier fighters or belt holders have to fight only each other to stay at world level in your eyes and everybody below them are domestic level? give me a list of your true top ten lightweights?

to be honest ricky's opposition at super feather was worse than his at lightweight. martinez was the only world class fighter he faced at that weight. mitchells ranking is a lie only in your opinion and to be honest mate all this is just your opinion. the bottom line is ricky is a 2 weight world champion who has faught world ranked fighter and beat them easy. yes fighting walsh is a step back to domestic level but fighting moses or mitchell was step above domestic and thats not just in my opinion but in the world rankings and more than one ranking at that.

why the **** am i arguing ricky burns on an audley harrison thread :-( this is getting old, were just repeating ourselves, have been for 3 days. i got handed an invoice at work and nearly put 'domestic level' down as my signature.

You really have to wonder whether Audley Harrison suffers some genuine kind of delusional psychiatric disorder.

He's a man who can seemingly block out all forms of realism and humiliation doesn't seem to deter him. It's become quite sad. What must his poor wife REALLY think?
