Perez has the movement to get inside on Wlad and take him out. Look at the speed of his right hand. He has the tools to do what Sanders did to him.

:patsch Chagaev isn't a power puncher, he either stops people very late into fights or he doesn't stop them at all... regardless of how good the opposition, chagaev rarely stops people early.

Wilder is a bum, and he will be violently KO'd as soon as he steps in with a live body.

Chagaev looked as shot as they come in his last bout against Werner Kreiskott, who is one of the worse journeyman in heavyweight boxing (although he has heart). It took him five or six rounds to do any serious damage and Kreiskott, while still clearly losing, was actually able to hit him clean. After he went down in the seventh, the referee took no time and stopped it immediately. A call that was booed by the crowd.

Anyway, the Kreiskott fight was a tune-up and Chagaev did not seem motivated for it. In his last big fight, Chagaev did not look too bad against Povetkin last year. His trainer Magomed Schaburow is convinced he can take Perez, albeit everyone knows that it will be a difficult task. Me, personally, I don't see it that way. I believe Chagaev will try but at the end, Perez will be too much for him. At least at this point of his career.

As the fight is scheduled for only eight rounds, I'd predict either a late corner stoppage or a decision win for Perez.

Good fight for Perez. Glad to see his career back on track, always have a soft spot for the Cubans!

If Perez can't get past Chag then he ain't a prospect, its make or break time!
