I think Floyd will put on a show with his slick defense. While Arguello's pinpoint punches add to the intrigue, I think that, this being at 140, that PBF edges it by narrow decision.
Before Arguello died, I'd have sooner shot Mayweather in the leg than have Arguello catch a cold, but if we are going to be as objective as we can be on a subjective topic, I really don't see Mayweather losing, with stiff, quick jabs to the body and his own way of bending Arguello's straight rights around his shoulder.
In the 12 round era I see Mayweather beating Alexis more times then not from 130-140. Stylistically he presents a huge problem for Alexis plus has the defensive ability and most likely beard that seemed to be absent in the other boxer types who troubled Arguello.
What is with dull arse, everyone knows Lil Floyd wins by decision at 140? Lets have fun, lets live up to our name, and make this a Classic Match-up at 130 in a 15 rounder. I am taking Arguello off the floor, to come from behind, to win in the championship rounds: Arguello TKO15.
Great match up , I pick Mayweather to win this one but I think Arguello gives Floyd a great fight and cause promblems for Mayweather with his long presion punching but I think Floyd makes whatever adjustments are needed to win , Mayweather by a close but clear decision.
Floyd points. At 130 I say Arguello comes off the deck and wins on stoppage, late. Floyd seemed more willing to get involved and throw combos in his early days, perfect for someone of Arguello's timing and precision.
Floyd would win a 8-4 decision, 8-7 in a 15 rounder, Alexis would shake him early, and Floyd would be smart enough to stay a step ahead of him to win a close fight.
While this is true, and Arguello would have more options as opposed to a negative pot shotting Floy of later days, I have no doubt that Floyd would beat Arguello at 130lbs by a comfortable decision in a very competitive fight.
12 rds 140...I like Floyd to take a comfortable decision...over 15 I still think he should take this although we have no evidence of how he would fare over 15 nor pace himself for the first 12...... @ lighter weights I lean towards Floyd over 12 & to close to call over 15.....
People who give pbf trouble are fighters with fast feet who throw a lot of punches, a sharp shooter like arguello, arguello is the better fighter,
