Tell me some better 135 fighters that you've SEEN in your time that you would have over Floyd.

What Mayweather did to Corrales was a schooling no one takes a prime Mayweather to school sorry that's just the ******* coming out of you.

Whitaker might beat him but take him to school? You need to stop drinking the cool-aid son!

You DKSAB. Hate Floyd or love him, and I don't much care for him, you can't knock his legacy pre-WW. I think he can do everything Pernell does defensively and maybe more with that shoulder roll defense, and he was a stronger offensive force as well. I don't pick ANYONE to outbox Mayweather at LW and below. To beat him, you'd need a come forward fighter who might eventually break him down and start hurting him, a prime JC Superstar or Hammerin' Hank.

LW, to me, has the most superstars historically of any division in boxing and Floyd is right up there at or near the top. You can tell the guys, and there are many of them, who only watch boxing NOW and don't really know **** about the sport in threads like this. They always pop up and talk like they're ****ing experts while they say absolutely brain dead ****. Because Floyd isn't blasting people thru the ropes NOW and has only decent power at WW, to them, that's how it always was. At LW, Floyd could drop fools with one shot. He had very serious power at LW and even more serious handspeed to deliver it.

Like some guy who told me, no one could get a SD on dream matchups. just UD, KO, or a draw.

At 135 I'd pick Pea over Floyd w/o thinking twice about it.

At 140 and 147, it's arguable who wins.

But Whitaker was simply better at 135.

These are two of my favorite fighters to lace them up, so if they were to meet it would be a toss-up. I think both fighters give each other fits; yes, Floyd is one of the greatest defensive fighters in the history of the sport, but I think Pernell would end up scoring better here, due to his flashy & crowd pleasing style.

Pernell's punch output would probably be significantly higher than Floyd's but I think Floyd will be more proficient, with the straight right hand, left hook and counter over the top. I think it would go to the judges, where I think Floyd wins by SD. At the end of the day, I believe Floyd's calm demeanor, overall speed, ring generalship & precision will win over the judges.

Whitaker, contrary to popular belief/ignorance, actually had a good workrate. He threw a lot of shots and let them go in combo pretty often. He was excellent at using the right moves, whether a step here or a move of the body, to find angles on body shots. His jab was great.

Mayweather is so smart himself that Whitaker's output would likely decrease, although I think it'd still be higher than Floyd's. Mayweather would land some nice straight right hands, but probably not enough to win.

    Pea takes a 7-5, 8-4 type decision.

Pernell would be busier but I feel Floyd would be more effective and clinical.
Two great fighters and it can be argued either way but in my opinion Floyd's ability to fight at a range that suits him and his timing would make the difference

Whitaker is the greater fighter, the more talented fighter & wins H2H, his jab & workrate see him through on points here, 8-4 or a clear 7-5 at worst.

Floyd's offense is way too basic. Floyd will not outjab him. I do think Floyd's defense is better...clearly better than Pernell's, but Whitaker's lateral movement and southpaw stance are a huge problem for Floyd's style. Whitaker in a shockingly clear UD.

Floyd and Pea's power is about equal. Floyd has never been a big puncher. He's been solid to below average.
