Nigel Benn, most exciting fighter to come out of Great Britain. Standout wins over Barkley/McClellen. 42 Wins, (35 KOs), 5 Losses, 1 Draw. Chris Eubank, heart of a lion, hard as nails never knocked out. Standout wins over Watson/Benn/Rocchigiani. 45 Wins (23 knockouts, 22 decisions), 5 Losses (1 knockout, 4 decisions), 2 Draws. Steve Collins, again hard as nails never knocked out. Standout wins over Benn & Eubank. W 36 (21 KOs) – L 3. Hall of Fame material? Opinions?
Ottke was a good defensive boxer but was the recipient of a few dubious decisions. He never committed to punches for the fear of exposing his defense and only retired undefeated due to hometown decisions and bias refereeing
The Previous statement is correct, Sven Ottke would have 3 or 4 losses on his record if he had fought outside germany. Prime for Prime Collins, Eubank or Benn would beat him. Robin Reid beat him but was robbed, I'll always remember that stinking paid off referee admonishing Reid for having the audacity to punch ottke in the face!
"All these guys beating each other"? It was Eubank and Benn beating each other, and Collins beat them both.
they all get in - Jones Jr was beaten by McClellan who was beat by Benn who was beaten by Eubank who was beaten by Collins....they are all HOF ATG'ers.
I never liked Eubank's counter punch style, he had some really boring fights with guys who had the same plan. Benn's fights were pure entertainment, Collins was a better watch also.
benn and eubank are HOF, but not collins. he was solid enough, but not worthy of the hall. he beat eubank which is a very good win, but benn was shot to **** by the time he fought him.
