When Sky officially announced the deal with matchroom they also announced that they were showing Ward v Dawson live. I also read somewhere that because they only had a deal with Matchroom they would have more money left in the boxing budget to get International fight cards. Anyone know why we've only had Ward v Dawson in the last 2 months? Is it going to improve anytime soon?
because Box Nation and Primetime are making bids for fights that are higher than what Sky feel is value for money.
Surely Sky could bid more than Boxnation and Primetime to secure the odd fight though. One International card per month from Sky would be good. Any idea what Boxnation's deal with Goldenboy covers and how long its for?
^ what the **** was that deal all about? Since they said that, I think they've shown 1 live fight! The reason for not having any international cards, is because Sky have invested all their money in F1 and Premier league, at least we have BN! rofl
We keep having this conversation. The fact is Sky are really letting down boxing fans, plain and simple. I don't care about 'value for money' and 'quality over quantity'; they used to show loads of great boxing, they don't anymore. End of story.
What did they actually show under the contract? Garcia v Morales and Ortiz v Lopez? I can't think of anymore.
Alexander v Maidana was also shown by Sky so thats 3 fights they showed under their contract with Goldenboy.
Sky want to put their spin on everything so I think even if they get a card, they still have to pay production costs, get presenters in and guest analysts. I'd love it if they just did what ESPN do with UFC cards, put the card on with the American production. Much rather hear Larry rant then Johnny.
:deal This. I have no real problem with watching the US broadcasts, certainly if it means more boxing!
shockingly mares vs moreno is not on boxnation even though they have that golden boy deal. this is a 50-50 fight with 2 of the best in the division. would be great if sky picked it up.
Bute vs Grachev is on tape delay at 8AM on Sunday on Sky Sports. Obviously just to keep Bute in mind before the Froch rematch but its something none the less.
