witter for me, is a fringe world level fighter who was lucky to hold the wbc belt, he gave many lackluster performances, and made a living calling out hatton, if the hatton fight had taken place witter would have been soundly beaten, hatton for all his faults was a relentless pressure fighter, when he realised he cant fight with his 5 punch a round pace witter would have quickly folded and would likely have quit as he did against devon alexander.
his style is so fustrating to watch, he was beaten IMO by kotelnik in 05, he look sensational in knocking out **** poor european level opposition, and fighters who had peaked at that point in their careers i.e. demarcus corley and vivian harris. I never considered him a world class fighter. It's a shame the hatton fight never occured as he would have been remebered as hatton's little *****

Witter is weird, if he stopped doin that stupidness he coulda been good, its like Donaire when he puts his hands down and that he kinda ****s about but when he keeps his hands up he can land a left hook that can put you to sleep, Witter just dont seem to have the heart and desire you need at that level

To mention him in the same sentence as donnaire is a massive injustice to donnaire.

The way he finished off Lauri and some of his earlier opponents was frightening, but he just didn't sustain that type of aggression, instead content to grapple and hold and hit, a waste

I some how doubt that I shall remember Witter! Sad but true. I cannot think of 1 great fight he has been involved in.

Sadly, I will never forget his God awful fight vs. Zab Judah back in 2000.
He put a lot of people off with that performance, and I always rooted against him after that one.

Looking back at his career now, he had a good run in 2005-07, but for most of his career I thought he was a boring figther.
British boxing is actually more exciting without him imo.

I will remember him for trying to take off and fly in Prizefighter, he should have had a few cans of Red Bull.

he will be remembed for calling out hatton for years and it never happening.

He would have been awkward for Hatton he could punch from the southpaw stance and that was always a weakness but i think hattons speed, strength and pressure would have got to him in the end for a late stopage, witter has always liked to pose too much and hatton wouldnt have let him get away with that

A decent fighter with an awkward as hell style - but wel past it now and he wont be remeberd by many

shea neary, micky ward and emmon magee were better fighters then him even if they didn't go on to achieve what he did.
