Why is it that Americans hate so much on British Boxers?

I agree mate. Think we should just be proud of what we've got. There's a lot of talent coming through at the minute in the UK and future World Champs like Burns and Brook. I think the US fans do tend to like that slick style (personally I'm the same tbh) and with I think guys like Brook and even younger prospects like Kal Yafai have that type of style that will transfer over to the states (hopefully)

Calzaghe fighting Jones was embarrassing.

He'd said YEARS earlier that Jones was ****ed and there was no point, then all of a sudden he's signing to fight him.

The ''easy last payday'' excuse isn't great either, given that it was well publicised that they just sat down between them and agreed a straight 50-50 split.

Considering their respective standings at the time, Calzaghe could have offered Jones a flat fee of $250k and said ''take it or **** off'', and kept the rest to himself.

 

If he'd had more experience of self-promotion and fighting in the States he might've done that. That 50-50 deal maybe shows why Calzaghe Promotions never took off once Joe retired.

 

But Joe and Roy were/are good friends. Maybe it was just a respect thing.

 

I am guilty of this very thing. No one has run-down British fighters on here more than I have, but more often than not it originates from a pissing contest after some Brit has run down an American fighter.

Half-English myself, I enjoy British wit and passion. What I don't like, however, is the rampant anti-American slant of so many of you ***** Limeys.
