Or any joint related injuries for that matter? Im in the middle of shoulder rehab after a "small tear" (I think in my labrum, idk if i spelled it right) and while its getting better, im worried that my left hook will never be the same. Has there been any notable fighter who have had bad shoulder injuries who have come back to 100%? Like for example if a guy like Thomas Hearns ruined his shoulder throwing a right hand in a fight, and after successful rehab, went right back to KOing dudes with the same straight right hand he injured his shoulder with. I also have knee pain and plantar fasciitis from too much roadwork/incorrect form running. Anybody know of any boxers with plantar fasciitis and/or knee pain?
I don't get the point of this question. If a particular boxer recovered from mentioned injuries, it doesn't mean you'll be able to. In the same way if they didn't recover it doesn't mean you can't. Your injury is unique and should be treated as such.
Yea I know that injuries are unique, I just wanna know if its possible to come back from a small labrum tear. My doctor said its "small" and doesnt require surgery, but Ivs been rehabbing it for almost 2 months and no real improvement. I just wanna know some examples of fighters that have come back from a bad injury. So it gives me hope that Ill be able to box again like i used to, it would be nice to know that someone else completely ruined theyre shoulder and came back 100 percent. and maybe how they did it?
Read this part again - So what if "Mr xxxxxxx" recovered from the same type of injury, you're not him, it doesn't mean a thing to you. Do as your doctor tells you, get through rehab and see how it goes. No amount of encouragement or hope will get you boxing again if it's a serious injury. If it isn't serious then you'll be able to box again once it's sorted. It's as simple as that.
So there have been no fighters who have had a really bad injury, like a serious injury who have come back? Or only small ones like mine? I know it is what it is, and I'm either going to recover or im not going to, I just wanna know what the probability of a full shoulder recovery is for a fast twitch sport like boxing. I know that of you like pull a muscle, you basically just have to rest it and it will be 100% eventually, but if you like break a leg or something, it will probably never be the same. Or if you have had substance abuse in the past, you can probably still be air traffic controller if you get yourself better and your life back on track, but if you are a narcoleptic, then you can pretty much forget about being an air traffic controller. Sorry if I keep asking the same question, but nobodys really telling me any examples.
I had a Kid, whose Shoulder was knackered, 3 major ops on it. He Boxed again, but wasnt the Fighter He was. Had another with a slight Tare, went on to do Good things, Hope this Helps.
i had a shoulder injury (SLAP tear) about 3 mths ago... my shoulder although it feels good now in daily tasks, doesn't feel the same when i box. sometimes it even hurts when i throw the left hook on the bag and i feel unstable when i throw the jab in sparring. needless to say, i have taken out the left hook out of my arsenal.
