Dead silent? yup! I was too.. I was nervous and maybe so they were. It was a close fight, closer than I think it would be. Any damn fan was silent when the decision was announced or else you wont hear it :rofl

Right, here's another random internet person account (tm) .. I was at a pub with Mexicans and they were dead silent after the fight. They knew Marquez lost. And the look of no suprise when the second judges card was read out said it all.
    Speaks volumes?

This fight was comparable to Peter Wlad, except the wrong guy got the decision.

how the **** was marquez robbed? his face was so ****ed up by the end of the fight. marquez didnt want to fight, he was forced to and thats why he got knocked down in the 3rd round.

pacquiao clearly won the fight with his aggression and power punches. marquez put up one hell of a fight though. :thumbsup

dead silence at a bar dosent mean they knew he lost. what it means is it was a very very close fight and they knew it could go ether way.

its a robbery that it wasnt a draw again.

Honestly, when the scorecards was announced and Manny was declared the winner. The thought of the people here yelling "ROBBERY!!" instantly came into my mind.

It was a very close fight and the win wouldve gone either way but it was never a robbery in my opinion. I guess the people here calling it a robbery conveniently forgot that Pac's straight left found itself on JMM's face many many times in the fight. Also notice that Pac had some nice counters, ONE of which wobbled Marquez pretty bad.

It was a GREAT fight!! And while I admit that I didnt see the fight going that way(I sort of didn't like it, as I was expecting a KO from Pac since I know alot of Marquez fans here would never give Pac his props if it went into the decision), lets stop the whining and give BOTH fighters their props. They fought great and BLOODY just the way we wanted to.

IMO, JMM didn't lose this fight.. he won.. along with Pac..

So a judge should be "shot" for disagreeing with you on one round? You must be new.

could have went either way but i agree with the popular opinion that the knockdown sealed the deal

If you had Pac winning the 12th, you should be shot.

Mate, you weren't there. They were feeling exactly what I was feeling... except it was their national hero so they were more gutted than me. Everyone was hanging their heads, a few people left in disgust. I was talking to one of them who said "Marquez clearly won, probably about 8-4". And when the first scorecard was read, he nodded and said "yeah that's about right". Then the second card was read, everyone cheered and looked as if they'd won the lottery - absolute shock. Then when they said, "new super-featherweight champ..." they just erupted... they knew it was a gift. And at that moment, I went from being gutted for Pac, to being gutted for Marquez... because despite me going for Pac, and being one of my favourite fighters, I knew that he didn't deserve the decision.

I had it to Marquez by a point.

It's a sport judged in a subjective fashion by pro judges.

So I can't see that he was "utterly robbed".
