Can you name some extremely hard punchers that had very little muscle mass?

Known for being very well built in the upper body. Poor choice.

have you seen how skinny his legs are though? I first noticed it in the Alexander fight. It's pretty horrific to even look at.

I disagree. Fitzsimmons is one of the better answers in this thread. For his weight division he had little muscle mass. That's how come he was often outweighed 20, 30 pounds.

Most of the answers on this thread are wrong. They are good answers to the question "Who was tall for their weight division ?" but not for a question about muscle mass. imho.

No, but he fought a considerable amount of fights with a muscle mass "deficit" in the same division that he was an extremely hard puncher in.

It's a better answer than Sandy Saddler, who had ample muscle for a featherweight.

i am not sure how the weight division has anything to do with the question, which is skinny people with power.

saddler may not be the best answer but he was definatley skinny and definatley hit hard, fitzimmons wasn't skinny at all

Naz is clearly well built for his height. I think Posters are confusing ripped , defined muscles, with muscle mass. As a 9 stone man he is solid with huge thighs to boot.

Yes! He really knew how to whip a hook! Especially the shovel hook aka the hookercut.

    The OP said :

"But what about fighters who had little muscle for their division but still hit as hard as hell? "

Muscle mass is the total amount of muscle on a person. A tall skinny 126 pounder might have as much muscle mass as a short stocky 126 pounder.
If a fighter is light for his division, carries flab or has no muscular definition, or has unusually large and thick bones, then he'll probably have less muscle mass. But long slim muscles are often as massive as short thicker ones.
Sandy Saddler's arms were huge. He had ample muscle mass for a featherweight.
