Someone mentioned Morales, which was a good point, but Morales is a technician, Hatton is not. Plus Morales has failed a few drugs tests, it wouldn't surprise me if he was taking performance enhancers for all of his comeback. Hatton will get stopped IMO. I obviosuly want him to win, but after the tough fights, drugs, junk food, alcohol and inactivity he's had, I can't see him being anywhere near his best. He has a young mans style, he isn't young and he lost his punch resistance in his last few fights. He's fighting a former champ, who isn't anything special, but he's got decent skills and power. I know he got stopped by Malignaggi, but he was never hurt, just totally out-boxed and had a badly swollen eye. Hatton can't out-box you like Malignaggi can behind a jab on the back foot.
I think Ricky Hatton will win his comeback fight... I was just stating he fact that he looks aged beyond his years.
Ricky Hatton was addicted to drugs..? He was a drug addict. This lifestyle issue along with afew others, is the reason why he looks aged beyond his years.
I think senchenko is very beatable by Hatton, as he's tall, doesn't cover his body, is slow footed and has no inside game. Even a very washed up Hatton shouldn't have much of a hard time with this guy, as long as Ricky can still move his feet faster than a snail he'll have no problems coming inside where senchenko literally has nothing.
Hatton actually outboxed Malignaggi behind the jab lol. His skill level is underrated a bit...especially against a euro bum like Senchenko. I'd have to see, but I'd think he'd beat Malinaggi again to get the WBA belt early next year, then get fed to Khan for his 147 debut.
We'll soon find out how much Ricky Hatton has left. I don't expect much from this comeback. He's been out 3 1/2 years, his style isn't suited for an older fighter, he's 34 years old. It has all the signs of a disappointment or a disaster.
You Blame Ireland? Try telling Charlie or his brother Grant that they'd "Irish" in them and they'd give you a slap.
Punchers typically decline rapidly after age 30. It will be interesting to see how this plays out with Hatton taking a few years off. Will the rest have helped him or caused him to miss the last of his prime?
He is boxing, not entering a body building competition so I fail to see what predictions can be made about his sporting performance based upon a photograph of his physique.
Joe Calzaghe did not lead the lifestyle of Ricky Hatton...? otherwise his Dad would of whooped his ass. Ricky Hatton was a drug addict and alcoholic.
PK, I would call him a "binge drinker" (that's a social drinker to a lot of regular people) as opposed to an alcoholic. There are different levels of addiction but trust me, Hatton's at the very low end of the scale. For someone from Liverpool you sure know **** all about drugs Hatton looks pretty rough, granted, but he is an ugly git and with all the ballooning in weight etc. his physique's not going to look so good. I think the comeback is a mistake but if he did come back and win a title, it will have been worth it for his legacy IMO. Ah well, stuck £20 on Senchenko to win anyway as I think even he may be a step too far.
